24:42 here's the honest answer bro: you're watching both sides of that simultaneously, like I grew up with naruto and bleach week by week starting in middle school on TV then the war arc through college years, and I knew I was watching the best story ever animated by the end of it, then it was a very very long time without anything this great after the end of naruto's era (I rank fairy tail almost as high and those are my big 3 undisputed), and only now comes a time of great anime again like AOT, JJK, solo leveling, slime, like it was an extremely real experience of great joy like a massive wish fulfilled when great anime starting rolling out again that can get me nearly as excited as I was for naruto, you're watching them side-by-side and they came out so far apart, so the evolution and storytelling in general means the newer shows are gonna incite even more dopamine, so you're not taking the low and slow curve of waiting a lifetime to see anime develop into being this great and many and frequent, but that also means you won't have to wait long at all for more peakness to roll around

"10 times stronger than the one of the 5 kage, but it's temporarily, after activating the 8th gates, the user will inevitably die". This was the build up for the entire story, from the moment we were first introduced in the Naruto's chunin exams about the concept of 8th inner gates, we were building up the hype. The reason why Kishimoto made Guy upsent during the Pain arc, the reason Itachi was wary of Might Guy. Guy was ready to use the 8th gates against multiple tailed beasts until Naruto with Kurama showed up. Guy, even in his 7th gates is able to beat Kisame without much effort, able to match the power of a tailed beast. And to think that Guy was basically holding back all this time, the 8th gates release all his "limitations" to the point that he inevitably dies from the release of this energy. And Nicholas, kinda missed all that, thinking that 8th gates of death Guy couldn't stand a chance against Madara. Even his father, Might Dai, was able to destroy the Seventh swordsmen, he defeated 6 of them, and remaining one just managed to escape by chance, I Imagine. And to think that Nicholas missed all that, I guess that is just what comes with watching the serial when you skip stuff and watch it for throughout 10 billion years and instead watch One piece. The last part is a joke, but yeah, I was kinda the same, when I first watched Naruto Shippuden I just skipped multiple arcs and went straight to the latest episodes which is happen to be the end of the War arc, so, I was surprised too, to think that Guy was able to do soo much against Madara, but looking back I know realize, the build up was there, from the beginning, and I feel now that they missed it, they could have made it way cooler, but no, Kishimito had to put the team work stuff, making somebody like Gaara at the same level as Guy and Madara. Instead, would be cooler if Guy just fought Madara on his own and everybody, except from Minato, couldn't even comprehend what is happening kinda like Tanjiro and Inosuke observing the fight between Akaza and Rengoku Overall, good reaction, Nicholas

There are some decent fillers in Naruto but there are also some god awful ones. Its hard for someone who hasnt seen it to tell them which ones to watch without confusing them. I always say the the first couple filler arcs in shippuden + the kakashi, itachi and hogoromo arcs are the best ones to watch.

There's nothing like the goosebumps you get when the backstory is interrupted in the buildup before the transition, when the music gradually ramps up, and when you intuit that the next development will be the climax of the show. Nick, I agree with you all about at least the positive responses you said, including your thoughts at the end of the episode, literally “everything”. No one can do it all in one go. Generally, it's enough to know what's important, and the details can wait. Looking forward to the next story line!

I still would prefer if you first finished Month Piece and then watch naruto on streams, not rushing it, and enjoy it the way you want to enjoy it. Btw. Naruto Movie The Last is canon and happens right after the arc called "Shikamaru Shinden", but you can watch it right after the War Arc. And after that there is the Last Arc which isn't something crazy, but really fun to watch as a "Epilogue" and Finale to the story of Naruto Uzumaki. And then as a bonus you can watch a special episode called "The day naruto became Hokage"

The symbolic of them fighting on Madara and Hashirama's statues, Kakashi's words, Zetsu giving attention to the fight, and the staging may hint at this moment (also if we keep in mind what happens next). Take your time indeed. Enjoy this crazy good anime. I have to bring up two precisions. Naruto and Sasuke have not always been reincarnates. There are hints that show that they have been chosen by Indra and Ashura when their relationship, goals, motives and "destiny" became similar to theirs. And such a thing could be possible, imo, after the pain arc and during the 5 kage summit arc. At that moment, Naruto accepted the mission entrusted by his master to bring world peace, while understanding where Pain failed. At the same time, he fully understood about Sasuke's inner struggles (discussion with Obito) and decided not to kill him by all means (he already decided that when speaking to Itachi or Omoi from Kumo but now he has the context). Sasuke went further in the shadow, sook for greater visual prowess with the eternal mangekyou sharingan (exchange with Itachi's eyes), killed Danzo, and it was as reincarnates that Naruto and Sasuke went toe to toe in the 5 Kage Summit arc. At that moment, their crossed paths became similar to Indra and Ashura and their chakra chose them as their reincarnates. But where it diverges is that Ashura had to resolve to kill Indra. Hashirama too. This is the curse brought up with this reincarnation thing. Their paths cross and clash. Naruto sticks with his resolve not to kill his nemesis Sasuke but will he manage to end the curse and break the cycle of hatred ? Im telling you all of that bc the reincarnation part is controversial among Naruto's fandom, people misunderstood it and said it goes against the thematics developped around neji's fight in the chunin exam, in which Naruto proves him that destiny can be chosen. But knowing that the reincarnation is a curse that isnt from birth, is acquired later on when u choose ur path, and that it pushes you to diverge from your path to kill your nemesis doesbt contradict Naruto's point about fate. Second thing, at some point you ll have the flashback of Hagoromo against Juubi and Kaguya, and the life of his sons. It is labeled as filler bit people would want you to watch it. I advise you not to watch it bc it s full of inconsistencies. Kishi didnt write everything, he gave some idea to Pierrot about some elements that will matter in Boruto but there are a lot of inconsidtencies with Naruto and Boruto's lore if u think deeply about these episodes. Ppl might disagree with me, and hence, if you decide to watch these episodes, keep in mind that it s not fully canon and that what they tell you is mostly false. You ll have to get the general ideas but you already got them while watching the discission between hagoromo and naruto imo.

Incredible, unbeatable anime. Ever since I finished watching Naruto, I've had trouble finding something on the same level. Nick, your concerns are justified. Here and there you'll find something that's almost as good as Naruto in twists and story, like AOT. Or an anime that's almost as good in fights as Naruto, like Bleach. Or in peakness moments and character friendships, HxH, OP. I can't think of any anime in shonen that's as emotional as Naruto. Frieren might have a chance, we'll see... but I'm not sure if it's as good as Naruto. There's just almost no other anime that has as much to offer as Naruto and let's say OP.

Instead of letting Guy just burn out and die from the Eight Gates, Madara tried to finish him with his Truth-Seeking Orbs, giving him a proper warrior’s death. It was his way of saying, "You were worthy." In the end, Naruto saved Guy, but that moment proved just how much Madara respected true strength.

No. Look at the main characters and their characteristics. Luffy doesn't have as much emphasis on emotions throughout the story as Naruto. Loneliness, rejection (by the village), loss of loved ones (parents, Jiraiya), recognition (by the village, Sasuke), ... hell if I had to choose one thing that Naruto is best at, it would be one of the three things: fighting, story and emotions, and emotions would probably win, and how they are amplified by the OST. And not just Naruto, but a lot of other characters and their stories Gaara, Obito, Kakashi, Itachi, Jiraiya, Kushina, ... there's no point in listing them, because almost every character has some kind of problem and it's expressed in the story with a ton of emotion and it improves the story itself. Naruto as an anime just has heart.

OP is focused more on travel and adventure than Naruto, so it cheats a little in Worldbulding, but I accept it. Naruto is such a balance in the big three. For example, Bleach is quite behind Naruto even in Worldbuilding. I have only seen such quality work with the story, plot twists as in Naruto in AOT so far, and even that is a shorter story, which is easier to manage in this than the longer Naruto.

Theyre all abt developing out the classmate characters and letting them shine. I think of it like the manga is the main storyline in an RPG and the filler and movies are side quests/dlc

Idk if nick reads the comments but i just wanted to point out that the subtitles were wrong on one important part. It said Hashirama and madara were the "first" predecessors but it's supposed to be the "previous". So the reincarnation cycle has being continuing for a rly rly long time.
