I will say however that I have continuously enjoyed watching FULL Dressrosa NON One Pace on several Reactors WITHOUT any issues or them going crazy on the pacing. I just think it's terrific with the dragged out opening recaps and several still-image movement scenes that just drag on forever. But all that chaos somehow creates this awesome hype and build up. I wish there was a less heavily edited version with properly flowing music and stuff.

2025-01-18 03:07:40 +0000 UTCexactly. why tf are people saying "one pace bad! >:(" when it quite literally just stays truer to oda's vision before toei fucked one piece up. and to those saying "we suffered through it so he has to as well!" dont you want him to enjoy it...? like, as much as possible? i mean, it's still enjoyable without one pace, as the arc is fantastic story wise- but pacing wise it's unbearable. one pace is made to make it more enjoyable, so you don't have to sit through anything not in the source material, and so you don't have to wait 5 episodes for something to happen. don't say stupid shit. i agree with this commenter a lot. also, people say one pace is bad because it takes out funny moments/gags...? what? not even true, as the manga has plenty, and one pace doesn't cut out anything in the manga, and even leaves in some filler jokes if they make the scene better. people have to admit that toei sucks (atleast pre-wano, although wano pacing is still... bad, animation makes up for it tho, somewhat.) and projects like one pace are made for the community, not against it.

That’s 70 episodes of terrible non-canon filler: dragged-out reactions, awful comedy, poorly animated running, and endless slow-motion scenes. Nick’s going to suffer through it just like the rest of us did. Toei completely ruins the story’s pacing and reputation with this adaptation, sacrificing quality just to meet weekly release deadlines. One Pace stays truer to the manga, and Oda’s masterpiece deserves better. To everyone saying, “It’s not that bad”—most of you probably watched it on 2x speed! If you have to speed it up to enjoy it, that says everything about how bad it really is. Early One Piece was alright in terms of adaptation for its time—minus the censorship and extra non-canon filler to pad out the runtime. It was watchable because they adapted 2-3 chapters per episode back then. But post-timeskip? The anime often adapted between 1/4 of a chapter to 1 chapter per episode, which is just diabolical - especially as chapters got shorter too. They did this purely to avoid catching up to the manga while still releasing weekly. It’s sad they were willing to sacrifice the story’s quality just to keep making money 💰
