Then they are given power to create unique skills out of those character flaws. Shogo was a bit of a brawler, Kyoya was a bit of a con man, and Kirara was a bit spoiled. Most people who arrive in that world from another one have their strengths and weaknesses mapped onto powerful abilities that enable them to have a bigger effect on the world than they did in the other world they came from. Rimuru is a prime example of this.

2024-12-26 16:39:18 +0000 UTCMost people seem to miss this and assume the red eyes are from Rimuru being a demon lord, but the previous 2 times Rimuru had red eyes (the Orc Lord fight and OVA Surgery) was because Great Sage/Raphael was in control and Great Sage/Raphael starts every sentence with "Notice:". Also Ultimate Skill Raphael is so powerful and ancient that most people don't even know about it, only those with the experience and knowledge of ancients such as primordials and ancient demon lords would recognize its power. So everyone assumes Rimuru is a weird genius but Diablo just saw Raphael's red eyes and starting every sentence with "Notice:" so he definitely knows the secret to Rimuru's greatness.

The idea is that he wanted seal magic, but then he wouldn't be able to annihilate all of them as efficiently. Meggido uses science from his past life that Great Sage recopilated to basically create lasers using the sun and these water droplets as reflectors. Its very complex and didnt get any explanation in the anime. But its freaking peak

He is their leader and even if when he made those 3 rules his empire wasn't as big as it was, but he is still their leader and didn't take into account human nature well enough and the dangers he was doing. Also, those 3 otherworlders were really obnoxious. Particularly that slit eyes that went up against Hakurou acting as if he defeated Hakurou using his efforts when the barrier holding them back was doing the heavy lifting.

Maybe you didn’t miss it but the words of the world is basically the « god announcer » of this world , announcing locally of globally big even such as a demon lord birth ritual , in this ep , the WoW announces Rumiru turning into a demon lord locally to all tempest inhabitants, then Rimuru skill named great sage requested it’s own evolution to the WoW and re-attempted a lot , after a bit she (great sage) sacrificed another skill resulting in the success of the evolution. She is now Raphaël angel of knowledge , she then evolved another skill , gluttony into utimate skill devorer Belzeebult . After that Raphael controlled Rimuru body and skills to resurrect the fallen . Great sage now Raphael , is the only known skill to be « sentient » ? So far for me and also share the same voice as TWW ( the words of the world, sekai no kotoba) witch is strange and maybe foreshadowing !

It felt like listening to an audiobook and looking at few PNGs. The contents of the meetings were interesting, but I would have much rather read them in the light novels. I think that is why people didn´t like the season. It was just an OK adaptation. (for example, even Death Note would loose a lot of it´s magic if the anime just did a barebones adaptation - if there weren´t those incredible OSTs, interesting camera angles and movement...)

I would've been more annoyed if they left out all that context and only focused on the fights so I agree with you. They didnt wanna make the same mistake they did with season 1 where they left out entire chunks of the story just to fit other stuff in cuz you lose a lot of context. They made sure to stay 1 to 1 with the manga/light novel in that regard for season 3 and i always prefer that

Combine that with occassional peaks in action, animation, sound design, and writing, it is so good. People say it falls off but I think they just forgot what the show is about, world building and season 3 never steps off the pedal when it comes to that. People who just love action might disagree but like I said, that is not what this show was built off of.

Especially Geld's moves. ETA: The red eyed version of "Rimeru" at the end who completed the resurection ritual, had a different voice because it was Raphael. That voice was the organic version of the computerized voice that The Words of the World and Raphael (formerly Great Sage) use.
