Watching/reading it weekly after the fallout of everything that led up to Aizen definitely left each and every chapter/episode feeling as if it were severely lacking on a week-to-week basis: especially when the anime suddenly concluded without warning, and went on a 10 year hiatus.

It's just so different from the normal style of Bleach which the fans aren't used to, which isn't really a fault at either the author or the consumers but I think it's a great arc for Ichigos character development

2024-12-26 00:21:23 +0000 UTCGin's Bankai is called "God-Killing Spear", funny because anyone who read the manga back then and the scolding Ichigo was given, would've probably figured Gin was going to turn against Aizen since it was Gin's plan all along. Very unfortunate way for Gin to end, a sad romance story. Rangiku just wanted Gin to express himself more to her rather than distancing himself and Gin just wanted to get back Rangiku her lost latent powers and avenge those lost powers. Gin's bankai is a really good one, in that the God Killing Spear pushes people away in an slithery manner, whilst also turning to dust... similar to Rangiku's shikai.

I doesn't help that it was shortly before this chapter released that I caught up to the manga. The next arc feels a bit forced, and the anime taking a 10 year break killed the series for me. 2024-12-24 18:20:00 +0000 UTCSome thing you need to know is the reason why aizen didnt gung-ho murder the kids and gin and all that is because hes whats called a schadenfreude character he gets personal satisfaction from tormenting and humiliating others so scaring kids so they fear for their lives is apart of aizens character and also another big thing about aizen is hes constantly essentially having an internal battle between 2 of his goals one to be god and sit alone in heaven and rule reality and the other is to perfect ichigos powers and potential as much as possible due to his scientific curiosity and obsession with challenging himself and others. unfortunately for aizen he actually won the fight against ichigo but lost the war due to reasons you will learn next episode

Yeah, I still think (some of) the powers are cheesy, but it finally gives answers regarding the abilities of certain side characters. The arc is not fight driven but actually more about Ichigo dealing with the loss of his Shinigami powers. He feels powerless and unable to protect everyone. The arc has my no.1 emotional moment 😢👍 I think ppl just overhate on the arc bc it was right after the peak Aizen fight and it felt like a downgrade 🤔 I was like that too *guilty as charged*

It’s an arc that contains a lot of character development for ichigo. It’s a lot more of a slow, dialogue heavy arc with less fighting, so it’s a bit different from a lot of other Shounen arcs. I personally find it to be a fantastic arc, and it’s a very needed prelude to tybw.

The arc is different from what's usual shounen - as in its more of a thriller/drama with action sprinkled in. Its actually pretty good. It's just that people can't seem to digest the genre switch and end up disliking it. its extremely vital for ichigo's character but people who only seem to care about fights won't see it that way.

The next arc might not be the most entertaining but it is ESSENTIAL to ichigos character I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and I can't wait for you to get to TYBW where most of the characters and plot points get their pay off
