2024-11-16 14:34:54 +0000 UTCI agree with both of you. The arc, especially in anime, has obvious flaws. I'm just pointing out what is good in this arc. And the fact that Nich may think that it would stay a chill/discovery and fun arc, with nothing crazy in it, and one or two intense scenes, is a mistake. It's an extremely important arc which has flaws in terms of pacing, and a non charismatic vilain. Tho, I wouldn't say that Hody Jones is not interesting. His writing fits well with the thematics of this arc. I'd rather say he is not memorable in comparison to cool characters as Doffy, Crocodile, Lucci, Katakuri, Enel, BB etc.

It genuinely feels like the crew is never together, and that makes it impossible to give us the interactions that make the series as good as it is. Yes post timeskip might thrive in other ways better than pre but to me that aspect is a huge negative.
