Maybe it was just more crazy than you expected but I knew going into it that it was meant to be weird but I didn't find it hard to handle. Ken - nerdy otaku who loves aliens Momo - "cool", "normal" girl who just happens to have a spirit medium granny and maybe a slight bit of nerdiness in her true personality Personally loved the dynamic that came out of that, their differing opinions and almost complete opposite personalities made for really cool interactions I thought The episode's point was meant to be "alien believing guy has crazy experience with a ghost which makes him believe in ghosts, and ghost believing girl has crazy experience with aliens that made her believe in aliens" Now they are the only 2 people that know both existences are real and so they've found some common ground. Also a clear objective for Ken established at the end of the episode and some powers for momo. I feel like it got a lot done in not a lot of time and that's probably why you got flustered but when you think about it, what's going on isn't that hard to grasp.
