God forbid I enjoy his analysis and other jokes. How dare I want to see a person I enjoy watching better themselves. Truly terrible. I don't think he means bad when he says some things, but that's not the point. Throwing comments out like dissing pride flags and asserting that deku and bakugo are straight and anything else would be disgusting shows a pattern of behavior. This didn't happen till he encountered the bkdk ship on Twitter and since then he's been making off comments every now and then. Nick isn't stupid and assuming people are static their entire lives and incapable of change is just incorrect. He's been way ahead in his pre-recording anyways, any change wouldn't be immediate. If you see this pattern of behavior as just jokes then congrats, you're not a marginalized person. Queer people have and will always exist and anime has always had queer representation, mha included. If he wants to distance himself from a chunk of his viewers that's his prerogative. He himself has stated that you wouldn't criticize something unless you liked and wanted better for or from that person.

Nicks comments? I've said before that it's disappointing that he's hypocritical regarding ships. He called bkdk people on Twitter pedos and acts disgusted and angry and insists on them being straight. But then he's okay with straight ships and finds some of them cute. I don't think there's any issue with straight or gay ships, but when you're constantly dogging on one type over the other that's some homophobia straight up. Unless a characters sexuality is canon- (I think toga is the only confirmed one as being bi) then you thinking a character is straight is also just a headcanon
