It has some of the highest rated episodes of all time on IMDB one being 9.8 which has only been done a few times. Must watch, I think you'd really enjoy the journey, Nick. @Golden I mean yeah, there are some slight differences between the demographics like tropes (in which AOT rather goes into shounen) and censorship, for example I don't think in shounen magazines you can show nipples, or at least in the newer manga 2000's+. I remember reading some psychological shounen manga and it was full of sex scenes, despite that nipples were censored, I guess because of a shounen magazine, still weird that the context itself was okay.

Bakuman, my dress darling and otome are great watch. So hilarious at times XD. I would pick those. And if you ever want to check out another old anime beside clannad, you can try Hikaru no Go (The manga, that was shown in Bakuman). Its really underrated but one of the best board game sport anime that i've watched, with a really good story and god tier OP and EDs. ;))

I've seen all but Bakuman that were picked this video and legit have all 3 of those within my top 10 anime currently. While I will admit I'm definitely a heavy slice of life fan, these 3 are all amazing shows that definitely are more than just "oh kids in high school." Clannad is easily by far my favorite of those though, the only thing I even possibly like more than Clannad is Yuru Camp (which was on the wheel too but not picked), but while Clannad s1 does have a lot of random comedy and whatnot like episode 1 did, it does have some really serious moments, and oh my god season 2 is literally a masterpiece, the best thing I have like ever watched in my life. If you can withstand season 1 you will literally not regret watching the whole thing once you make it there. I love Bocchi and Oregairu a ton as well and both are amazing but if there's any of these I'd love people to experience the most it's easily Clannad. Just love seeing people try out Slice of Life things in general cause there's sooo much more to anime than just the mainstream action-y anime.

I watched 2nd season of Clannad in my early 20's and it still broke me in a similar way, at some point I couldn't handle it psychically and physically because of how much I cried. I tried watching Fruits Basket, but I didn't like it that much. I got as far as 15 episodes, with hope it would eventually get better, but it didn't.

I personally heard a bunch of times about Bakuman, but yeah, it isn't exactly the most popular one. I would love if Nick reacted to many other genres, especially some psychological or mystery stuff, since they are my favourites. You kind of make my point about how popular Shonen anime are that even in other genre's a common overlap of the popular ones is it being Shonen. The reason being obvious. 3. I am showing appreciation that he is spreading out and not just watching the most popular stuff only. There is plenty of less popular Shonen anime too that I enjoy but if he is only ever reacting to "The Big Ones", then we will never see those ones with him. Sure Bakuman is another Shonen anime, but clearly not a popular one since this is the first time I have ever seen it or even read mention of it. The most common/popular are in fact Shonen, it simply has the biggest fan base. Clannad (specifically season 2) is the only Slice of Life anime (from around 150 I watched from this genre alone) that got a 10/10 from me. A lot of people complain about season 1 being boring, when I first watched it I also wasn't a big fan of it, but it's definetly worth it to get through the entire anime. However, despite that, I think my favourite Slice of Life (not the one I think is the best) definetly would be Girls Last Tour.

I feel like following this, it'd be a good idea to open up a comfy slot. Not to call it a slice of life, but since so many polls are saturated by shounen, I feel like a broader term for a single slot that wouldnt have shounen's but instead focus on chill anime would be great. be it romance, mystery, fantasy or slice of life, this shouldn't just be a one time thing. Clannad is adapted from a visual novel wich means it adapts different endings into a few episode arcs, so giving it 3 episodes may not work out because what’s really good about it are the climaxes of those arcs and the first one actually happens in the 9th episode so you may find first 3 episodes boring

Oregairu is a slow start but the moment you get into it, oof its actually gonna blow your mind. Its a freakin 11/10 show. It's not the best anime but my Favorite.

@BlekDimon Yes I’ve noticed in recent years shonnen have separated their differences quite a bit from seinen. In the early 2000s is was a pretty blurred line to distinguish the two of them so I get your point.

I really recommend Toradora if you're going to try slice of life Nick, it's such a good anime for portraying emotions realistically and it tells a very beautiful story!

@BlekDimon oh my bad, i just assumed aot was not a Shonen. It gets more seinen towards the end imo. Also the demographic does matter quite a bit in terms of how the story is told, how the characters act, less or more anime trope stuff, gore and nudity are shown slightly differently etc.
