Shikamaru saying Sai was right was also a massive L, prob the biggest L Shikamaru has ever had. I will say all of this not as criticism but just to give my own opinion on some of your takes. I feel like you have completely forgotten that Sasuke used to be a really cool guy. He cared about both Naruto and Sakura and put his life on the line to protect them many times. You saw plenty of that. There was also plenty that we did not see, as they were a team for around 8-9 months. Naruto also relates deeply to Sasuke as someone who also dealt with solitude and trauma, their bond was not just a normal friendship. In fact, Sasuke was Naruto's closest friend and one of his few friends. Sakura has the right to have feelings for him for the same reasons, that he was once a great person. Sakura's character has some issues regarding her looking weak or irrational at times when she is the opposite, but her still loving Sasuke and wanting to save him were never issues with her character or Naruto's. That's like the focal point of the entire series. People's feelings are no so easily explained by pure logic. Do you think someone always goes after the optimal partner or friend, and will switch who they like on a dime to whoever is most "worthy"? No, feelings are complex and often not rooted solely in logic. Keep in mind that it is also very hard to truly hate someone that you once loved unless they take something precious away from you - permanently. Sasuke is also arguably the biggest victim in the entire series (tied with Itachi), so I think you could stand to sympathize a little bit more for his situation and understand where he is coming from as Naruto and Sakura have tried to do as his friend. It's not like he is just some villain with no actual reason for his hatred. It was the cruelty and hatred of the shinobi world that created Sasuke above all else. I could have sworn you even said that you understood why Sasuke wanted revenge on the Leaf and that you would walk that path too, but then you blame Naruto and Sakura for attempting to understand that hatred and still save him? Even if you wouldn't do that yourself, you should be able to understand why some people would want to save the people closest to them if they gradually become evil as a result of being traumatized by the actions of others. Even beyond that Naruto is also walking a path to end the cycle of hatred that is extremely integral to the story, and you self-admittedly don't seem to understand it at all. The idea that maybe there is a path that doesn't involve killing each other for revenge, even it seems idealistic. Trying to save Sasuke is a direct representation of that idealogy that Naruto used, Jiraiya's vision for peace, and the answer he gave to Nagato. If Naruto and Sakura were ok with Sasuke being killed then there would have been no point to any of that messaging you said you loved in the Pain arc. Don't forget that Naruto chose to spare the life of his greatest enemy of all time. Pain had just killed Jiraiya, Kakashi, Fukasaku, and many other innocent villagers. Compared to that Sasuke was his best friend and has killed literally nobody he loves, so why would he give up on him and want him dead but spare Nagato?
