I honestly think the reason season 1 feels slightly better is because of the break neck fast pacing of the story. It's almost a little TOO fast and it feels like you never get a chance to breathe. So by the time we get close to the end of season 2, it kind of feels to me like a sort of exhaustion or something like that..
