I will agree that season 5 has some flaws I disagree that is about pacing exclusivity to me it seemed out of order so that created pacing issues. However we pick back up. Maybe I just don't understand what she meant, but it seeing all the others apologize to her because she felt bad for saying mean things really got me heated the first time I saw that episode.

2024-04-18 19:36:04 +0000 UTCI’m actually rewatching ep 136 (season 6) 😭😭😭 and I just wanna ask that although season 4 there a bit of a lull stick with it because the payoff in season 6 and even 5 is so worth it … prolly some of the best writing in season 6. Personally I appreciate the lulls in season 4 because it really sets up some of the stuff that happens later (according to manga). I mean even Naruto couldn’t be at 100 all the time. But awesome reaction and can’t wait till the next two this week!

There was an entire episode dedicated to changing clothes, that's not exactly what I would call good pacing, I mean it's definately better than 3 episodes of stairs from wano.

But then the back half of S5 is just a strictly inferior version of the manga, especially with the pacing changes made to it. Then the first arc of S6 is good in the anime, but better in the manga, but then the second arc of S6 finally picks it back up in the anime and elevates it above the manga is certain parts and gets really good.

You get to learn about other characters and just have fun with life. If it was hyped up all the time animes would get borning. Just do what you want to do Nick and I'm so glad your enjoying the anime! The music in this show is peak!

Season 4 is really amazing and starts to have more mature themes in it. Even if Season 5 is a bit slow, it is good to show how Class 1a has improved and we get to see more of the villains. And then Season 6 is where it gets really serious and I also enjoy that season cause it's so good. I can't wait for Season 7 :D Glad you're enjoying MHA Nick and have a good day :)

Season 4 first half is nuts, and the second half is a lot of character development that is both beautiful and important to the future of the show. Season 5 is ok, but the last 2/3 of it is good. Season 6 is just absolutely nuts.

S5 is slower because the story slowed down before the amazing and best season which is S6. A lot of people are right, it does get a lot slower and I think that's just because the events that happen are drawn out over more episodes (think about it like the battle of Trost arc in AOT). I do still love every event and arc though, even despite the drop in pace, and so do many others so that should be kept in mind too! I think you like this show enough that the next season or two shouldn't bother you, Nick. They aren't at all bad seasons, in my opinion, and MHA also picks up again in the later seasons and gets Really peak again, so the payoff is definitely there for a small exercise of patience!

Most MHA patterns for arcs are High Action/Tension, Cool down, repeat. With character development in between. And in more current MHA it went High Tension, to more tension, a little cool down and then even more tension.

2024-04-17 02:30:21 +0000 UTCI wouldn't say it gets too slow, at least compared to what slow means for longer running shows, like the big 3; it definitely changes gears and slows down a bit, but a looootttt of that is all of the story you get leading up to where the manga is now. You might feel bored or frustrated at parts, but I think each season still really holds its own. I was not a huge fan of the story in the first part of season 5, but the rest still stuck hard with me, even when it does shift gears.

The slow pacing isn’t that bad, I think the complaints come in because hero academia is usually fast paced and so some people did like the slow paced episodes even less than other shows because of that.

You learn a lot about other characters that are necessary for the last seasons. Some major developments begin in the final two episodes! Also, I love the admission of Bakugou growing on you. I absolutely despised him until this season. It's been fun re-experiencing his character development alongside these videos. Thanks for the upload!

2024-04-17 01:37:04 +0000 UTCAs someone who has finished and experienced this anime many times over and recently started reading the manga(im at the latest chapter, NO SPOILERS IN THIS COMMENT), I do have to say that it is not "the greatest show of all time" nor a "flawless anime". It is true to some degree that the arcs do get longer in chapters as the story goes on, but the switch off between acts and characters keeps it as entertaining as possible. It's no Chainsaw man or Jujutsu kaisen, tho it presents its strengths heavily through the passion that is told with this story.

Although Season 4 definitely has the most filler that you will see in MHA on the second part... After that it's great, but I personally love going deep into the characters and having emotional moments. My absolute favorite fight is still to come! So it's lies that it gets slower it!

2024-04-17 00:45:32 +0000 UTCThe beginning of season 5 is the only "slow in a bad way" part in my opinion. It's basically school stuff, but with less stakes then the provisional license exam and sports festival. Not to mention they focus a lot of attention on characters from class 1B which we haven't been given a lot of reason to care about (aside from a select few) It's not bad by any means, it's just a lot of school stuff. It gets a bad rep especially because it's following the back of another school event (end of season 4) Season 5 is a season mostly focused on fleshing characters out. Both the villains and the heroes developed their bonds and characters. However most people prefer the later half of the season. I agree as well. Mostly because the action and plot beats in the beginning just don't have a lot of stakes. It does depending on what you value. If you already care about Class 1B then this arc will interest you. It's cute and it definitely pushed my opinion of the class out of the neutral category. But that's all it did for me. I like them a little bit. Some characters more than others. I appreciate them, and that's all I can really say. Because of this most of the action and fight scenes (in my opinion) didn't carry a lot of weight to it. There was not a lot of 'hype' per se. When they started focusing on the villains though? Man I was sat. Maybe it's just because of the drastic difference in my investment who knows. In my opinion the second half of the season was better. It had stakes that I cared about and developed the league so they were less one dimensional villains. (Although to be fair season 4 did do some stuff for their characters) My only 'complaint' would be that it felt a little rushed. It felt like there needed to be more of it. Not only that, but the animation took a very small, yet noticeable dip. So yeah only complaint was that I needed more lol. Up till the end of season 5 I would watch the anime, then read the manga. Usually the anime is a step up in overall pacing and quality. Exceeeeept for the end of season 5. To my surprise they cut some scenes from the anime, and overall kind of shook up the pacing. Definitely recommend reading the manga. Horikoshi does great horror art. Speaking of Horror found out the anime does quite a lot of censoring. Anyway this was just my yapping session.

So MHA is good with these "heavy" arcs into a "cool down" "take a breather" episodes. Let's face it your not going to get many more "cool down" arcs after season 5 so enjoy while you can cause things get really heavy after that.

I know some people don't like it but I love how this arc finally starts to highlight the rest of Class 1-A. The last arc gave characters like Tokoyami, Shoji, Kirishima, and Momo some well deserved moments. I'm looking forward to rewatching this arc and seeing some of my favorite characters finally getting their first big moments.
