I did that with tokyo ghoul:re and it was horrible to see some scenes I was looking for just being non existent in the adaptation 😭😭💔

The general storyline has a lot that resonated with me during a time where I was struggling a lot. I can understand you and others saying it was shit, but I’m not too critical of it myself.

Tokyo Ghoul is my favorite manga ever (I'm more of a Seinen reader). The weekly experience back in the day was just something else. You can ask Chibi about that, he played a role in the weekly discussion for many people back then too. Could be kinda cool to discuss the manga with other content creators when you are further in the story or when you have finished it (Chibi, Sufferents on Youtube, SenEto99 on Twitter, ...). To make it easier for you, I scrambled through the volumes and the 12 episodes. They stack up like this: Episode -> Chapter 1 -> 1-5 2 -> 6-9 3 -> 10-Half of 14 4 -> 31-34 + 36-39 5 -> 2nd Half of 31 + 35 + 37-44 6 -> 45-46 + 2nd Half of 47 + End of 14-Half of 15 7 -> 2nd Half of 15-21 8 -> 22-28 9 -> 29 + Half of 40 + 47-49 10 -> 50-53 + End of 58-59 11 -> 60 + Part of 77 + a lot of scenes from Vol 7 + 8 combined 12 -> 61-66 Even for the supposedly good season (imo decent at best, but the best there is, mind you), there were a lot of changes...kinda ridiculous if you lay it out like above. They had their end goal in sight which they wanted to achieve in only 12 episodes, so they cut and rearranged a lot of stuff. Two major arcs were swapped (Hinami + Gourmet), probably to progress the story quicker. So, if you want to keep comparing the two mediums, you would spoil yourself a lot if you do it like now. If you don't want to spoil yourself, I suggest the following: Read -> Watch 1-5 -> Episode 1 6-9 -> Episode 2 10-14 -> Episode 3 15-49 -> Episode 4-9 50-59 -> Episode 10 60-79 -> Episode 11-12 Regarding Season 2 and TG:RE: It's so impressive how much they butchered it though apparently a lot of stuff was the fault of the production committee and not necessarily the studio. However, Studio Pierrot was most likely also not good enough to adapt Ishida's artstyle and story. Sorry for the long post and whoever reads that, thanks. Also guys, read Choujin X, the current manga of Ishida, which is a fucking banger as well (Anime soon hopefully!).
