I don't think this is gonna get many likes, but I'd love it if you did Toradora. It's a highschool romance anime, which normally isn't something I and I think you would be into very much, but to me it was an outliar because of how good it is at portraying emotions and how real every scene of it felt. Steins Gate would be a good watch, I agree with the other Commenter. But idk about for a first time anime watcher. Though I think if you guys like the themes, and got past the beginning, you both might like it. It does start really slow, but it gets really good. I think it has a slow build-up on purpose though. Also, both the sub and dub are good, so if she likes dub it's an option. Sub Okabe's laugh is better, but Dub Okabe has a humor about how they say some things sometimes, that I liked.

"UNDEAD UNLUCK" would be a good one to react to if neither of you have seen it, it's cool but also crazy insane and funny.
