I'm a big fan of Solo Leveling way before the anime adaptation were announced. And I agree that this constant cuts in the middle of the action to other characters, that anime only people still don't know them properly to care, is the biggest downside of the adaptation. In the manhwa, you get to see the world only through Jinwoo, so you only meet those characters later on, and see Jinwoo interacting and forming different types of relationships with them, so you can finally care about who they are. In the anime, it's cool to see them animated this early, I love them, but I totally understand this can be really annoying to anime only people. It's 100% understandable. For now, Jinwoo is being low key about his growth, but once he comes out into the world, he will meet almost all of those characters, so you will get to know them better. Season 2 will be very interesting. But don't mistake me. The greatest action of the series will be at season 2. Meeting characters doesn't mean no action at all when talking about Solo Leveling LOL you are completely right that the action and Jinwoo beating ass is the main focus of the serie and what they do best. The storytelling is average, nothing crazy. Anyway, it's a fun serie!!

Basically, the "Arise" is equivalent to a signature power-up in other Anime where the show FINALLY starts Arising. The main super move Jinwoo is going to be using throughout the show. Ex. Rasengan, Gear 2, Super Saiyan, Black Asta, Nen Ability, Black Flash.

none of these characters were really introduced until after the job change quest. Before that point they were just known as celebrities or not introduced at all. They are probably doing this to try and add some depth to them for further in the story.
