Think I'll start my Nicholas anime journey with this one. I'm not gonna comment on every video, but I just wanted to say I love this show. I loved it so much I went on and started listening to the audeobook for the light novel. This is gonna be fun :D

Then, respectfully, my comment isn’t really directed at you, and my comment on death note may have been stated incorrectly, cause I’m not good at explaining things, I do like the show, I was actually just trying to make an example, where if I looked at death note the same way people look at Jobless Reincarnation, then that’s how I’d see it, I was just trying to tell people that first, yes, he’s a bad guy, second, people who like the show aren’t child ticklers, and third, things aren’t so obvious and blatant, the whole show is a moral dilemma, and people just don’t really think about it and then yell past each other at a wall. So I was frustrated when I first made the post, but no I don’t dislike the anime that I referenced in the message.

Its not hard to accept that people have different taste in music, shows and other things. You listed why you like this show, which is great but my taste is death note with a rather dark atmosphere and great music. Unfortuantely my taste doesn´t include the typical reincarnation anime of which 1000 exist and the majority feel like the same show. I get why people like Jobless Reincarnation but as soon as I see a 10 year old trying to pull a 9 year old I´m done with this show. However that doen´t say the show is bad but it´s just not for me

I swear this show is the ultimate litmus test for media literacy, it's so good at filtering out people who understand genuine good writing and story telling from people who just watch anime for cool fights and can't understand anything more complex than Naruto lol

I'm not quite sure you can call him a pedo, exactly. He is broken mentally, but he's not mentally ill, if you get what I mean? If you analyze his behavior and thought processes, basically he stopped developing mentally at age 14 due to trauma. He remained stunted at that developmental point the rest of his life. If you analyze all of his inappropriate actions, it makes complete sense, his mindset is obviously that of a pubescent boy, the only "maturity" in him is his regrets and being able to come to terms with what exactly in his life that went wrong was HIS fault. Tbf, he blames himself excessively. The inability to sympathize is simply because you don't WANT to. And I don't mean that hatefully, there's a reason I don't like people throwing the word "pedo" around like a stupid insult, the word itself is too toxic, once it enters someone's head it requires an immense amount of logic and willpower to override the default emotional response. But you should at least recognize the issue is coming from you not being willing to sympathize, and not that it's a flaw with the story.

The best summary of this show is "the coming of age story of a 36 year old man". The whole message about the story is if you put the worst scum we could think of in our world in a better environment, could they turn their life around. The whole point is for his actions to be gross at the beginning, he's supposed to be scum. But writing him off for that and ignoring his growth and change over time, that's not what you're supposed to do. Of course it's fine if it jsut isn't your thing, but the writing for this story is AWESOME and the changes you suggest would completely defy the experiment being played out in the story.

Rudeus isn’t magically gonna stop his weird tendencies, it’s a slow process and if you don’t want to see that then it’s fine. Not defending some of rudeus’s actions at all but I wouldn’t say the author should cut parts out when there’s a purpose in it.

Read the novel a few years ago and couldn't continue it since there were too many pedophilic remarks from the mc towards the 9y old girl. (Plus the panty worshiping). No matter how much gigguk praise this shit, (i too agree that the world building is amazing), the disgusting nature of the mc makes it barely worth watching/reading it (especially first episodes). It's funny how many losers try to justify his bahaviour, since the author could have just cut those parts out, or just simply made the mc actually reincarnate without his memories and you would have been able to justify his words as just some horny teen fantasy

The same people who hate this show are the people who think that Deathnote is a genius show despite the character having an untraceable weapon of mass destruction, a girlfriend with cheat codes, and an emo detective that pulls clues out of his ass, you have no idea what’s going on in a show unless it’s shoved down your throat, this show isn’t like that, it’s just guttural and real, creepy or not this show has themes that are genuinely deeper and darker than most other shows but they are realistic, this show never says that he is a good guy, the whole point is for you to think that he’s a bad person that is incredibly cringey and creepy, it says so multiple times, but the point of the show is that it’s a pretty bad person becoming at least a little better in a completely new world, with different rules and different values btw, it shows what would actually happen if you were reborn as a baby, completely restarted life, and had to adapt to these new lands, but I suppose you think it’s more realistic to be reborn and force this entire world to go by your old world’s rules, good luck, besides the character who isn’t here yet, people complaining about Roxy are dumb, if you don’t have boobs the size of bowling balls in anime you are compared to a kid, it happens in almost every anime in existence, petite women exist you know, they don’t have to be 5’10” with huge breasts and a curvy figure to be an adult, some anime bend reality far more than this one does, everyone usually likes Dragon Maid, but there is literally a 2 year old with white hair that they say is like thousands of years old, but whatever, most of the people hating are just sheep anyways.

So glad you started this! It really is a masterpiece but it takes a while to get to the point of calling it that. Personally, I still like Re:Zero more though. I'm sure you noticed already but the main theme is redemption so keep it in mind in future episodes because your not going to like a lot of the characters, even the main guy but that's what the author was going for.

as you noticed the main char is quite the perv scumbag but what makes the anime so good is the character development which isnt only him alone but mainly focused on him of course...is it as good as hunter x hunter or vinland in that sense of character development? No...not at all but it is pretty good like hxh and vinland are a 10/10 in my opinion while this is like an 7-8/10 plus the whole isekai setting and the animation quality is quite high standard. Hope you wont drop it...enjoy it
