Seeing as it is pretty confusing for you I feel like you will be able to better understand and focus on the dialogue with dub rather than sub and still give those iconic Nick reactions that we know and love. Not to mention the dub for this show is absolutely fantastic and goes in my top 5 dubs of all time.

Pretty sure most anime watchers, regardless of nationality, watch anime in sub. Dubbing exists for people who would rather watch something in their native tongue, don’t really see how that’s a bad thing. It lets more people enjoy anime, is that not a good thing? Not saying you have to like dubs yourself but just let people enjoy anime in the way they want to. There is no “correct way” to watch it, it’s down to the person and how they prefer to watch it.

I appreciate you saying how that there are bad subs when sub isn't perfect. I remember people not liking Asta's sub voice. People also act like all dubs are bad. It's so annoying how dub is over hated. I do watch sub as well but for the most part I prefer dub. There are great dubs like Cowboy Bebop, Gurren Lagann, FMAB etc. Some people argue Death note sub is better while I disagree, the dub for it is most definitely better imo. I did hear that it's a running joke about Nick hating the dub -- that he doesn't really hate dub, idk. Joke or not, I can still see how it can be annoying for people who want him to give dub a chance and also the constant dub bashing but apparently, it's a joke so knowing that I don't take it seriously. People do notice how he tends to miss dialogue by having to skip back a bit to re-read the subtitles, plus looking at the chat and sometimes miss the dialogue. But he says he prefers sub so its all good I accept it and still fw the reactions. Maybe one day he'll give dubs more of a chance the more people request it, if not its all good people have their preferences.

I’m surprised there are so many dub recommendations, as most of the time it seems that most of the anime community tend to be brainwashed into thinking all dubs are bad when that is just blatantly incorrect. Mostly down to personal preference at the end of the day. Yes there will be bad dubs but there’s also bad subs, they’re not infallible. If this many people recommend it you know it’s at least a pretty good dub, I would agree, definitely one of the better dubs out there. It probably will help with understanding the show as you’ll have breaks in between episodes and you are still trying to make content and not just sit, concentrate and read in silence. I’ll watch the reactions either way.

The dub could help with catching info (it's also a very good dub, Lelouch's English VA is a legend), but if you enjoy the sub more then no worries. Love how much you're paying attention, and I hope you enjoy when shit starts getting even crazier <3

honestly, i love watching you to react to stuff like this. it's a very nice change of pace from the constant hype and energy you tend to bring to shounen-type series, and as much as we all enjoy those reactions too, i think having variety like this every now and then is a good thing, both for us and you! it's definitely normal to be confused at first, this seems like one of those series where you're not SUPPOSED to know what's going on right off the bat. but, that keeps you alert & curious! also, while i haven't watched the dub myself, even though many people are saying it'd be easier for you to watch CG dubbed, i'm not sure if that'd be true? like, just speaking from personal experience, if the contents are the same, i'd rather be able to pause and read what's being said on the screen than have to rewind to listen to the lines every time. either way, it's your choice, nick, personally i enjoy the sub a lot! anyway, looking forward to haikyuu tomorrow, hope you & live are doing alright today :)

Matthis, I also hated dubs for the first decade of watching animes, but a reactor needs to talk instead of watching in complete focus with pauses on each scene. Nicholas is doing better than 90% of popular Geass reactors, but I doubt his mental can endure for two months. And no, Death Note is slow compared to Geass. If you are getting so mad about IQ in the comments, go check out other most popular Geass reactors, except BW, you will see.

Finally watched it Ep 3 : So yeah you didn't recognize that it was Lelouch voice (Like in ep 2 when he was leading) on the call with Kallen, he asked his maid like "Call her and play the rec at that time" but I guess you kinda understood it when you replay the moment when you saw red eyes idk, it's a very smart anime when you have to understand some little parts by yourself, that's what make it great, and jesus those OSTs Ep 4 : Yeah, it took you a while lmao xD We saw him fully when he called Kallen and his face in the subway, anyway you knew it at the end haha. Don't pay too much attention on the political shit, it doesn't really have a impact on the story, it's for the lore. Brittania and Japan, all that matters. And yeah, I don't know why everybody talk about dub when you didn't ask about it, the voice actors hit hard in subs. I sent you a msg 2 years ago on instagram talking about this top tier anime, glad you're reacting to it, be ready for more great story. Enjoy it mate

Awww you must be watching the Blueray version. In the original version of Code Geass there a lot of references to Pizza Hut as they were one of the company that help support the anime. With their logo everywhere. But on the re release they censored them all out. Look it up on Google some time it a very funny fact.

I think the issue for reactors is that they normally only watch like 2 episodes a week so they just forget a lot of shit plus they are reacting so end up talking over stuff. But like I said as long as nick pays attention he'll be fine

Other reaction channels have struggled with this show even with dub so don't worry about all the people telling you to switch, as long as you keep the mindset of wanting to understand and pay attention (plus the occasional rewatch or read of a summary since you aren't binging) you'll be fine. Code geass and haikyuu are my top 2 so glad your enjoying them both so far.

Not about dub over sub. It's just the complexity of the anime and not being able to understand Japanese without reading etc. This show is at least 2 to 3 times more complex than normal anime shows, especially with the political side of things. Several reactors to the show miss so many things when they watch in sub.
