Once I got really good, my setters started setting me way more often and I mostly ran slides (the one where you run behind the setter and jump off one leg). If your team doesn’t score after you run a slide, it’s strategic for the other team to set a back set too so you have to sprint back to block. Then if we dug the ball I’d have to sprint back to the other side of the court to run another slide again. I may be tall like Tsukki but I was the one sprinting around like crazy like Hinata constantly running and jumping.

I guess I never realized how slow it starts because I’m a volleyball player so I was invested from episode one, but as an anime fan, Haikyuu is very character forward. There’s a lot of amazing character development so it is a lot of set up/build up for pay off later. I swear it’s worth it.

Haruichi Furudate, the author of Haikyuu, was a middle blocker like me. I love how much love he gives us since he understands how a lot of our hard work goes unappreciated. Yes the setter does a lot of work cause they’re involved in every play and the Outside hitter gets the majority of the sets typically, but the middle is also constantly moving. Running from one side of the court to block, transitioning and then approaching and jumping for a quick set that’s not not even guaranteed to come to you because even if you know you’re not getting set, you have to sell it to be an effective decoy, then to run to cover if you don’t get set and repeat until someone scores. As a middle, you’re constantly jumping turning and sprinting.

To explain what the coach and coach assistant of Aoba Johsai said, so Kageyama received an invitation from Aoba Johsai High School to enter the school and join the Volleyball club and play for their school. Kageyama did not accept the invitation. Kageyama wanted to enter Shiratorizawa Academy and join the volleyball club which is the best in the prefecture but he failed the normal entrance exam. Kageyama did not receive any invitation from Shiratorizawa Academy. Because Kageyama failed to enter Shiratorizawa Academy he went for his 2nd option which is Karasuno High School.

2023-10-24 01:05:16 +0000 UTChere i am again with some little notes & fun facts! 1. the "holes" that appear in the net when a character is behind it is just so you can see their face more clearly. 2. since there's a lot of characters & it can take a while to get the hang of all their names, a few things that may or may not make remembering who they are easier: - the numbers on their shirts generally represent the players' positions. for example, #1 is always the captain (with only one exception in the next season), #2 is the vice captain, and so on. i know you say your brain turns off as soon as numbers get involved, but it might help you understand some of the dynamics a little better if you do happen to remember some of them! - also, many, if not all the characters with longer names have nicknames that are commonly used both in the series and by the fans, they're generally just the first part of their full names. so instead of, say, "tsukishima," "yamaguchi," etc., perhaps trying to remember just "tsukki" or "yama/yams" might be easier! aaand with this set of episodes we've got another character that people either love or hate at first...curious to see your first impression of oikawa in the next one. hope you & live are doing well today!
