Doesn't matter the genre, the popularity of other shows, nothing.. nothing compares to the anxiety and excitement of every game and seeing the story unfold. There are times when I don't know what team I'm rooting for, be it Karasuno or their rivals because there are so many fucking AMAZING characters in this show. You'll constantly be introduced to more and more amazing characters and their dynamics and the lessons they'll teach you along the way. This is my comfort anime, I'll always come back to it. Also, the dub is hilarious if you like dubbed anime as well.

Episode 4 the quote is a real quote by Brazil volleyballcoach Bernado Rezende. The middle number is for the round the match is on, which is also called sets(1st set, 2nd set, 3rd set,..). Characters we know right now. There is only 3 years in Japanese High School. 1st years(Freshman): Hinata Shoyo, Kageyama, Tsukishima aka Tsukki, Yamaguchi 2nd years: Tanaka Ryu, and 3 characters in the background we have not been introduced yet 3rd years(Senior): Daichi, Suga, Kiyoko(club manager)

Bernardo, or "Bernardinho"(little Bernardo) as we used to call him, was the greatest coach that used to lead our volleyball team to victory, and I used to watch all of the games of the Brazilian team, they were such amazing games... This episode brings me a lot of nostalgia and happiness ❤️

Despite not understanding Japanese almost at all, I was never confused as to what was happening or the emotions that were being conveyed. When I went back and rewatched with subs I felt like I hardly missed anything at all.

2023-10-19 01:57:09 +0000 UTCy'know, i might pop in here with some extra explanations and fun facts for every set of episodes, because there's just so much to talk about with this series! ofc i'll keep everything spoiler-free though: 1. since you seemed a little confused with the points, a quick explanation on how it works: every game has 3 "sets," each going up to 25 points. to win a set you need to be at least 2 points ahead when you reach 25, so ideally 25-23. otherwise it'll just keep going up until that 2 point difference is eventually reached. whoever wins 2 out of 3 sets wins. 2. tsukishima, the blond guy, is commonly known as "saltyshima" in the fandom, and i think it's very easy to see why lmao. you either love or hate him when you first meet him, but i'm sure he'll grow on you. again, every character has their story that'll at least make you respect them, if nothing else! 3. you're right, hinata & kageyama are basically freshmen. high school in japan has 3 years, and out of the characters you've met so far we have: 1st years - hinata, kageyama, tsukushima/"tsukki" (blond with glasses), yamaguchi (dark-green hair with freckles) 2nd years - tanaka (loud, bald guy) 3rd years - daichi (captain), sugawara/suga (vice captain, grey hair), kiyoko (the girl, team manager) and i think that's enough infodumping from me, can't wait for the next eps & hope you and live are having a lovely day!
