My advice to Nick is this: Make MHA a twitch show. There are many stale and boring scenes in MHA where no action happen and the conversations they have/interactions are meaningless during those scenes. If you have Twitch chat, they will be able to entertain you at least when those moments happen. I can guarantee you will get bored or sleepy watching MHA in some of the dead episodes. MHA has some great peak moments but it's not keeping up the heat thorough the show. Code Geass is a short 50 episodes show but very tactical, action packed and interesting. You will be invested, and you won't get bored. It will be like one of those Nitro shots that you take Nick!

Interesting. Very different shows so I'm suprised. You're basically asking Deathnote vs Black Clover. I voted for My Hero Academia but you might be a little tired from that kind of anime. Also I have a feeling you'll take a minute to like the main character considering how react to the previous shows. I keep trying but can't get into code geass. I get the basic premise though & it's usually compared to deathnote esp the main character. MHA is Asta but cries a lot. Personally I don't think we need another Shonen anime in Nick's lineup cause now with Haikyuu being added he's up to 6 Shonen animes with 3 (almost 4 with Haikyuu being 93 episodes and finishing with a 2 part movie to finish it) being over 100 episodes and if my hero gets added that'll be 7 Shonen and another 143+ episodes since it's still going. Meanwhile Code Geass only has 50 episodes (couple movies I doubt he'd watch unless we ask him and he's willing) and finished so personally I'd like to see him react to a completed series that wouldn't take as long to get through compared to a series that's almost 3 times as long and still going to have more episodes. Based on this poll if Code Geass wins I have a feeling he'd do my hero after Code Geass since it is so close.

Code Geass is darker and takes a more psychological approach like death note, but with some ocasional action scenes. MHA is more lighthearted (still has some dark moments) with more of an focus on action and school life. Both are good shows, each with their own pros and cons. In my opinion you´d probably enjoy Code Geass more but i could be wrong on that

Honestly MHA is really soul sucking for me. The fights are flashy and the characters have some decent moments but most of the time are bland and generic, and don’t even get me started on the plot. It is just so boring to watch. On the other hand Code Geass has phenomenal characters and story, but is obviously very stylized and dated animation wise. That doesn’t bother me but I have heard that it does for some people. The shows are not even comparable in my eyes, MHA is like playing the slots at a casino and Geass is like playing a hand at the poker table.

Personally I think All Might vs. All for One was the weakest fight in the entire show. It should have been amazing in theory, big good vs. big evil with the passing of the torch to Deku, but it simply was executed boring imo. I don't know if this was the fault of the source material or the adaptation but I was bored a lot during it. Kinda' reminded me of Orochimaru vs. Hiruzen in Naruto.

I get where you are coming from, but reviews are by definition not objective. Objective equals facts. An objective review would basically be a summary of a story without opinions attached to it. When someone says: "The lights at a set could be better, because right now the environment looks too dark". This sounds objective and the majority of people are likely to agree to this comment, however yet this part is still an opinion, one that the masses share, but still an opinion. There will always be this person in the world who likes the set being "too dark" better. But I do agree, code Geass is a nice one :) Also congrats on reading this without tl;dr

Nick can watch MHA but there are many episodes where nothing really happens and they just chat (nowhere near OnePiece humor so those scenes are hella boring). Since those scenes aren't even fillers I'm pretty sure Nick will get bored. MHA has several Peak moments but it takes a long while to get there. Code Geass is short, steady, from start to finish and is action packed with strategy. I am convinced Nick will enjoy it more, like a Nitro shot.

Hopefully you find this comment Nick. I think that either shows are great to watch on here. If you feel like you need a change of pace from the "typical" anime you watch being shonen then code geass is a good option with a great story and everything, a little reminiscent of death note if you need a point of reference. On the other hand, if you are enjoying shonen alot, then you will love My Hero Academia. It has incredibly high highs, with some arcs being low. Some would say the writing is inconsistent because of the high highs in contrast to the rest of the show. It all depends on what you really want. I vote for My Hero personally because it is my comfort show and I grew to love the character after many years, plus if you start to watch it now, you will likely be able to react to the new season that is releasing in likely the spring of next year. So it is 7 seasons in total for this show if you commit to it. Whereas Code Geass is 2 seasons with 50ish episodes I believe. Can't wait to see your decision and who won. (I wrote this because I see alot of people simply dogging on the other show in order for them to win the vote with if my say has any importance in the matter than this is what i have to say as I tried to take a more objective standpoint) tldr: Code Geass is fantastic and great short watch of 50ish episodes, overall fantastic and if you liked Death Note you'll likely like this, more psychological and drama along with mecha's and a unique world and iconic power. MHA for another shonen with incredibly high highs and some iconic moments in anime history, an action series with great fights and superhuman society, good worldbuilding and i find it to be very emotional, some tears might be shed who knows. It is also a show that is currently running still so you enjoy it as it comes out in the later years. My vote is MHA due to how I've been there since day one. Gotta say tho, the music really does make this whole show come together well. Both are fantastic asf, happy either way.

I’ve heard mixed reviews on the later seasons like s5, but up to like s4 where I stopped, it was pretty good, definitely doesn’t deserve the hate. But still, Nick hasn’t seen many anime’s with more complex or different plots like code geaas. It’s a goated anime and shorter. He’s already been watching so many shonens.
