MHA is such a long series and is kinda mid S3 with the exception of the My Villain Academia arc in the manga, and like half of S6. The only other highlight beyond that is the music, OPs and EDs, Shigiraki, and maybe Endeavor which they kinda fumbled later.

I don't know the reasons behind most other people's votes but the reason I didn't vote for my hero was because I don't want to see Nick react to another long shonen anime because if my hero wins he would be reacting to 8 shonen animes with 3 almost 5 (Haikyuu at 93) (4 if MHA wins) of them being 100+ episodes and might just be my interpretation of it but it seems like people are wanting Nick to react to a different genre and a much shorter anime because right now my hero is sitting at 143 episodes with a new season coming out so in retrospect the next longest anime is Overlord at 54 episodes and Code Geass at 50. So if Code Geass wins we could get at the next reaction of a series sooner which if he would put it to a poll and my hero is on the list it would probably win. I'm fine with whatever wins but just saying we could get to more series on here if we go with shorter animes.

Lately it seems like Nick is only watching shonen shows that are 5+ seasons long and people are getting sick of it and want variety. Yeah, I haven't seen Code Geass so IDK anything about it. I have seen MHA and it is a dam kid's show have no idea why it is tied for first must be a lot of 14-year-olds using mommy's CC to sub. MIA is the best anime on the list; Anime of the Year, an amazing premise for the story excellent world-building, great voice acting, and an OST that is ethereal. It is also short and if he did 4 episodes a week like he does it would be done in a month and a half.

Since you asked, MHA starts off promising and throughout the entire 6 seasons there are some very good moments. That being said the over all story and anime is a very generic and basic battle Shonen. There is nothing special about it and it is not unique. It combines the tropes of both Shonen and superhero genres which are both very overdone at this point. Season 4 and 5 all the way through are boring and not much goes on, the fights are bland. I personally gave the anime one last chance with season 6 and the first few episodes were VERY good. Then we get into a bit more of the fight between the MC and MV and it was written into a scenario where the ONLY reason the MV is not beaten is bc the story deems it necessary he survive or not die. I dropped it there on the spot. I see MHA as a similar anime to Fairy Tail, a good one if your just getting started but there are FAR BATTER shows out there especially Shonen (pretty much every other Shonen he is/has watched) I think he is at the part of his anime rabbit hole where he should start delving into the still popular but more thought out and intricate shows like Code Geass, Steins Gate, and Made in Abyss. I personally think out of those three Nick would enjoy Made in Abyss and Steins Gate the most since it seems like he really likes to analyze and think through these shows. MHA does not have that and it is a very dull and surface level show except for some fringe and short moments.

And I do agree that Haikyuu is a good sports anime but not the best, blue lock exists. How is it mediocre if it’s a 7/10? Mediocre is 5/10 7 is a above average show, which MHA isn’t. The only memorable part of MHA is S3 and the latest season the rest is uneventful, mediocre and simply a snooze fest. Whilst the entire Elf saga of BC clears everything MHA has to offer and it’s not even its best arc/saga, spade invasion arc and the final wizard kings saga negs. But hey don’t get too mad you are entitled to your own opinion which I don’t really care for.

Any more cringe than the likes of black clover? If Nic liked that, than he'll like MHA too as they are both generally very mediocre and in the same tier when it comes to anime. Only difference is the writing is a little more competent in MHA as the characters aren't as one dimensional like having one character trait be an entire characters personality for 100 episodes in black clover and the actual anime adaptation is much better with MHA. One is a high budget bones production and the other is a low priority pierott production and you know that's the case when the direction and animation quality is up there with Bleach are Naruto filler arcs lmao.

Ive watched and its just boring. Good premise but the horrid mc kills any hype it had going for it. They tried to redeem deku with the vigilante arc, but it just made him even more cringe. The actually cool side characters also play no part in the story, which makes deku feel like the only one relevant to the plot at all. Pure mid shonen at best.

It's literally always a 7/10. Crazy how it has such a big and loyal fanbase. MHA is mediocre alot of the time too, but at least it's being adapted by bones and some of the animated sequences are absolutely insane and look incredible. The highs of MHA dwarf the highs of black clover. And haikyuu is regarded as one of the best sports anime for a reason. Yeah, MHA is actually pretty good. Even at its worst (second half of S4/early S5) it's only mediocre. It's never straight up bad and generally, it's been getting better as it goes on. S6 was the best season by a significant amount imo and I'm hyped for next season. Code Geass is definitely a better show, but I'm totally cool with MHA winning. Its a really solid show.

I haven't watched haikyuu because it's not my kind of anime and i also didn't enjoy Kuroko no basket. I dropped mha at the villain arc, because it was kind of boring. Code Geass has a good story, not great but good, but i hate the mecha shit in the show. Slime is fun and parts are really great and emotional, for me the second best show in this poll. Steins gate is also cool but not as good as other shows on the list. Overlord went downhill in season 4. I think too many people here haven't watched made in abyss. The story, the worldbuilding, the character writing, the animation and the music and production quality is on movie level and not even comparable to any other show on this list. My comment was made because Nick's fanbase obviously doesn't want any variety, just the same type of show with the same type of reaction over and over. There's this hidden gem i love called phantom requiem that's about 26 episodes that follows the MC who gets kidnapped and forced to endure grueling assassin training for a cartel/mafia. He goes on missions with his assassin trainer who is a girl he falls in love with and they get framed for treason and burned so they use their skills to escape and live out new lives under fake names while being hunted. FUCKING phenomenal anime.

If you ever have even just the inkling to pick it up again I'd highly recommend. MVA + parts of 5 did not come out great, and I also hated MVA(the villain arc), but between s6 and the manga it got leaps and bounds better. One of my favorite series. Just a note though, to each their own!

I think some of the animation/adaptation around s4/s5 suffered because of other projects Bones was juggling as well, but season 6 came out incredible! The manga currently is also going pretty insane. It's a good read

I see your point but I still have to disagree on some of it; especially since nick has also loved other shows set up like that, like BC and pretty much all of the big 3/popular shonen in general. While mha like other shows does have a following of young people, it has a following of older fans as well, and for a reason. Code Geass is great and I'd love to see him react to it, im just feeling a little burnt out about the unnecessary hate for mha.
