The arc has some of the best moments in anime, but they’re surrounded by these long drawn out moments with characters I don’t care as much about with a narrator that’s telling me what characters are feeling instead of me experiencing what the characters are feeling themselves, thus adding to my lack of empathy and emotional attachment towards them. Which is sad cause I actually like Ikalgo’s character, but his sections along with Pouf and Youpi’s, take up so much unnecessary screen time that it gets boring to me. I’m happy for those that love these episodes and the narrator, but it’s not for me. It just feels like someone is telling me about an anime as I’m actively trying to watch it.

What's going on here? 🤣

You'll still have plenty of dope shxt to look forward to, but these 10 episodes are perfect for HxH week.

2023-09-02 06:45:12 +0000 UTCCool details about the ending scene with Pitou: the shot where she turns around to see Gon and Killua is the exact same shot when they first meet at episode 85, she turned around in the same way. Except the power dynamic is the complete opposite: Back then Pitou was a deadly menace to Kite, Gon and Killua, and here she's a healer trying to save a life. Back then, Gon and Killua were in grave danger, and here they turned into the dangerous ones. This observation alone already tells so much about what Togashi's trying to say. There is a DOZEN of small parallels, repeated dialogue and mirroring scenes/postures in this final segment of the arc it's actually insane. I love the narrator. His way of depicting the events doesn't leave that much room for free interpretation, but it's very strategic. The author doesn't want you to waste time trying to solve the plot, he lays it out to you in a very poetic way (almost resembling a cautionary tale) in order for you to solely focus on the emotive aspect of the show. themes and character. Hunter x Hunter is such masterpiece when you learn how to tackle it, and that is especially true for the Chimera Ant arc since it's so different that any other classic shonen arc out there. Also I love that you actually love Welfin, for a character whose 90% of screen time consist of overthinking and paranoia, I didn't expect that coming from you lmaoo I cannot wait for the next upload, thank you Nicholas!
