2023-04-15 00:32:04 +0000 UTCI know it looks weird out of context, but that's because there animals, and the creator of this anime focuses on the animal instinct while mixing it with human laws, carnivores aren't able to eat herbivores because the law prevents it yet they still have the animal instinct that lets loose, and herbivores live in constant fear of carnivores and themselves because their animal instinct is to be eaten by them

I can understand how some people get put off by the art style, or maybe the genre, but it just really makes me sad if anyone dismisses it as nothing more than 'furry bait.' Like you alluded to, classic disney, for example, is chock full of 'furries.' Game of Thrones is full of sex. Rick is semi-regularly banging aliens in Rick and Morty. Yet all of these are beloved. This show has so much to offer if you can just *let* yourself engage with it rather than doing yourself the disservice of knee-jerk reacting with the internet-conditioned 'furries are cringe!' response. Thinking the show is trying to convince you to bang animals is a strawman; it's trying to create relatable characters and provide social commentary, for which the animals are integral. But I'm hopeful Nic will be able to engage with it; he's pretty open-minded. So let's go get those likes up on the youtube video ; )

2023-04-12 22:57:49 +0000 UTCTrue. It's a really deep, intriguing plot that manages to pull you in despite the weirdness here and there. I also don't think that this is specifically a 'furry' thing. Yes, they are animals, but that's a very important plot point, just like many other movies and series that have been made throughout the years, and yes, some of the characters are sexualised, but that would have been the same even if they were human. I personally got used to everyone being animals without thinking it's weird pretty quickly.

The story couldn't be told without the characters being animals, because the main focus is the herbivore vs. carnivore dynamic and how it's lead their society to embrace repression. And yes there are sexual scenes; but that's just because they're horny high schoolers; it doesn't really have anything to do with them being animals. All that being said... this is a pretty hilarious out of context compilation. It's just way too easy to pull scenes from this show and make them seem horrifying XD
