I'm with you.. BUT the more i thought about it, the weirder it got, like how would that even look like, 60m doods walking on the bottom of the ocean (3500m deep on average), also they wouldn't have been able to make use of the steam / heating. As for the swimming, great point about the mass, to which i would add that, as the founding titan, Eren could've simply ordered them to swim OR have Ymir "enhance" their bodies so they could swim, tho i wouldn't say anything out there suggests they can't it just looks weird the same way hats looked weird on the scouts.

This would be the opposite of "ruining" it because they would be taking into consideration facts that they did not consider before, thus, making their opinion more educated.

That's the genius and poetry of this story; Eren changed so much in some regards ofc, but he never stopped being Eren. He didn't lose himself. He's always been the hunter; it's just that now, burdened with the horrible truth of the world he inhabits, he's decided to change his prey.
