With Halloween rolling around, you were more likely to see ghouls and goblins roaming the streets, although these were simply kids in costumes on a journey for sugar while the real supernatural beings kept to the shadows. That's where Veronica came in as a vampire living amongst mortals, even going so far as to date one named Jackson, humoring his love of Halloween and the spooky season.
Despite being 20, Jackson still participated in trick-or-treating with Veronica but when their mutual friend, Lucas, convinced them to trek through the woods to skip the houses that gave the lame treats, things went awry quickly. It started off fine but as the couple blindly followed Lucas, it was pretty clear he had no idea where he was going. Veronica had a bad feeling in her gut, between the twigs cracking in the distance and the scent of supernatural magic in the air. All three flinched when a deep howl reverberated through the woods, sending shivers down the two mortals' spines. Whipping around, Veronica saw exactly what she expected as a slim, white-haired woman stepped around from a tree, cutting off the group's pass.
"Aww, is someone lost?" The intruder jeered, stepping further from her cover in the brush until the two men noticed her ears and tail. They were white like her hair but resembled a dog's, or more likely, a wolf's. She grinned with sharp teeth causing the two boys to backpedal a bit. "Well well well, Veronica," she laughed, "Did you get yourself another mortal pet?" Jackson spun around, eyes wide, "You know her?" "Oh, you didn't tell him about the whole vampirism thing?" She taunted, clearly enjoying exposing Veronica to the other two. "It's- I- I'll explain later, get behind me," she sputtered, "Luna causes nothing but trouble!" Lucas, beyond terrified at his reality shattering, made a run for it, but Luna was faster.
In a white blur, she was on top of him, pinning him to the ground as she opened her mouth wide. Veronica and Jackson watched in shock as Luna began to eat Lucas whole with her impossibly wide mouth. He screamed and kicked as his body was sucked down her throat. First legs, then hips, then shoulders, until the last they saw of him was his pleading eyes before his head slid down her esophagus into her expanding gut. "The fear always makes them taste better!" Luna snickered, patting her shrinking stomach, digesting Lucas, and breaking down his body into fat. This fat was distributed around her body, engorging her breasts and padding out her ass and thighs. "YOU KILLED HIM!" Jackson screamed in a mixture of terror and fury. "Oh no, quite the contrary!" She smiled, "He's still very much alive in here, here, and here," she quipped, pointing at the newly padded areas of her body.
"You're a fucking monster!" Veronica shouted, her eyes blazing with fury as her fangs appeared, ready to attack. "Like you're so much better, don't think I don't know about all the souls within you, swimming around in your body," Luna scowled, disgusted by Veronica's hypocrisy. "That's- that's completely different! I get consent!" Her face flushed with rage, "And I only hold their souls after they die! Of natural causes mind you!" "So, why don't you tell little ol' Johnson here about all the mortals you've eaten," Luna scoffed. Turning around, Veronica watched with a broken heart as Jackson showed clear signs of fear when looking at her. "Now that that's over, I'm starving," the wolf girl gibed before darting for Jackson.
In a flash, Luna was on her back, sprawled across the ground and dazed. Above her stood Veronica, her fist outstretched where Luna's neck was mere seconds ago. "You bitch!" Luna choked, holding onto her throat. "Not again," Veronica stated coldly, "I'm tired of you ruining my relationships. In fact, I'm tired of you as a whole." Luna grinned widely, her canine teeth glinting. Two immortals clashed, between their heightened strength and supernatural speed, they were an even match. Every punch was countered, and every kick dodged until Luna took the fight to the mental plain.
"I don't need to destroy your relationship," she laughed, dodging a swipe from Veronica's sharp nails, "You seem to be doing that yourself." Anger flooded her vision, allowing Luna to get a punch in, cracking a few of her ribs. She flew across the forest floor, cracking against a tree where she slumped. Luna approached her, a snarl dressing her face, "All those souls in your body, surrender them and I'll kill you quickly." Veronica murmured something, her voice weak and raspy. Luna leaned in closely, bringing her grimace close to the dying vampire's finally heard what she was saying.
"These people trusted me, I won't let them into your hands as long as I live!" And with that, her hand came from behind her back carrying a pile of glittering powder. With a quick toss, Luna was met with a faceful of silver. She screamed and scratched at her face, not noticing the supposedly defeated vampire turning into a bat and disappearing into the canopy. Flying away from the howling wolf, Veronica began to follow the scent of Jackson, hoping she'd make it before Luna added another soul to her own body.
