In Hindu mythology, there is a story about Lord Shiva meeting Mohini, a female avatar of Lord Vishnu. The story goes as follows:
Once upon a time, the gods and demons agreed to churn the ocean of milk in order to obtain the nectar of immortality. During the churning, many valuable things came out of the ocean, including the deadly poison known as Halahala. The gods were afraid of the poison and requested Lord Shiva to help them.
Lord Shiva agreed to help and drank the poison to save the world. However, the poison was so powerful that it turned his throat blue and caused immense pain. To relieve his pain, Lord Vishnu suggested that he meditate on the banks of a river.
While meditating, Lord Shiva saw a beautiful woman passing by and was enchanted by her beauty. He approached the woman, who introduced herself as Mohini, an avatar of Lord Vishnu. Lord Shiva was so captivated by Mohini's beauty that he asked her to marry him.
Mohini agreed, but on the condition that Lord Shiva should be able to recognize her in her true form. Lord Shiva agreed, and they got married. However, Mohini soon disappeared, and Lord Shiva realized that he had been tricked by Lord Vishnu.
This story is often interpreted as a metaphor for the power of illusion and the need for spiritual discernment. It is also a reminder that even the most powerful gods can be vulnerable to deception and temptation.
