The Greek Goddess Artemis is one of the most elusive goddesses. Known as the goddess of the hunt, wild animals, and the moon, she also represents chastity. She famously asked her father Zeus to ensure her virginity forever, and she keeps this vow very strictly, even to the point of turning a man who once saw her naked into a stag and setting his own hunting hounds upon him. Any woman who wishes to join Artemis in her immortal all-female hunting party must also swear to eternal chastity... and if they fail, they may also be turned into wildlife and subsequently dispatched.
