1. Choices Define the Character

At the start, you're typically given:

A setting (e.g., Marvel, DC, Multiverse)

A number of points or slots to spend

A menu of powers, companions, gear, origins, or drawbacks

You use those to build your character.

2. Perks and Powers

Each "perk" is a trait or ability, often described vividly. These are grouped into:

General traits (like immortality, intelligence, charisma)

Combat abilities (telekinesis, elemental control, martial mastery)

Narrative boons (plot armor, multiversal luck, protagonist aura)

Players spend their points to buy these perks—like building a superhero loadout.

3. Drawbacks Add Flavor

To earn more points, you can accept drawbacks—challenges or curses that complicate your story. These add risk and drama.

Examples:

"Constantly Hunted by Cosmic Entities"

"Can't Return Home"

"Mental Instability"

4. The Narrative Journey

Once the choices are made, you set out in the chosen setting with your loadout. The story adapts around those powers and problems.
