Talking Futurama - Anthology of Interest I

This week's episode of Talking Futurama tackles a format-breaking episode that seemed like it was going to become a regular occurrence until it didn't: the Anthology of Interest! Futurama's answer to Treehouse of Horror spins three tales slightly wilder than what you'd already see on an outlandish sci-fi series, all brought to you by the magic of the fing-longer. Along the way you'll witness the untimely death of Hanson, learn how to apply for mail-order degrees in murderology AND murderonomy, and, at long last, meet Scruffy. So listen in, as we discuss TALES OF INTEREST!

Don’t worry I hate Bosko. I can’t believe people defend Bosko

It's been a minute since I've watched Anthology of Interest II so I'm not sure which I'd say is the better episode, but I really, really love this one. The 500 Foot Tall Bender segment is definitely the weakest (even if it's still pretty fun), but the Leela and Fry stories more than make up for its flaws. I love how Leela's in particular shits all over the conventions of the mystery story while playing up characters' stupidity and obliviousness, like Zoidberg in the Poirot role telling Hermes to shut up so he can solve the mystery, completely ignoring the solution being blatantly obvious in the other room. It really is a shame that they never made this an annual tradition like Treehouse of Horror (even if I didn't watch much of the Comedy Central era anyway).
