M Knows that Alexis has...
Added 2025-02-09 18:43:40 +0000 UTCSomeone mentioned doing a POV for M to get a vibe of what they think about Alexis, so enjoy. (I will definitely be doing more of those).
--------------------------------------------------
The music pulses through the walls of the club, a steady beat thrumming beneath your feet as you move with MC—your birthday star. They laugh, their eyes bright with the mix of joy and excitement, completely in the moment, oblivious to the world around them as you press them just a little closer than necessary.
But you're not oblivious.
You see Alexis.
They're sitting at the bar, watching. Trying to act casual, like their eyes haven't been glued to the two of you since the song started. You can practically hear their internal battle, the effort it's taking them to keep their expression indifferent.
It's almost impressive, how well they mask it. Almost.
You smirk.
With a little more force, you pull MC even closer, your hands firm on their waist, your bodies brushing against each other as you sway. The motion makes them stumble slightly, but they only giggle, looking back at you with blissful love.
"Little aggressive there, Mel," they tease, breathless from dancing.
"Just making sure you don't slip away from me," you reply smoothly, your voice pitched just enough to let Alexis hear, to let it linger in the space between the three of you.
MC doesn't catch it, but you do.
The way Alexis' grip tightens around their drink. The twitch in their jaw before they bring the glass to their lips. They're good, you'll give them that. But you're better. Because unlike MC, you know exactly what Alexis is hiding beneath that carefully blank expression.
You chuckle, slow and knowing.
Alexis might be their best friend, but you? You're the one with MC in your arms.
The song winds down, and MC gives you a lazy grin. "I need a break," they say, pulling away slightly, but you don't let go just yet.
Instead, you pull them back in, kissing them, letting your fingers linger on their face just to see if Alexis will react.
Nothing. Just a tight sip of their drink.
Fine. You'll take your victory and make it sting.
"I'll grab a drink," you tell MC, giving them a playful wink before turning toward the bar.
You don't have to look to know Alexis' eyes follow you. They're too predictable.
Sliding onto the barstool beside them, you rest your elbow against the counter, stretching out, making yourself comfortable. "Oh, hey, Alex. Thanks for coming to MC's birthday party."
The response is immediate. "It's Alexis." The words are clipped, firm. "Only close friends and family call me Alex or Lex." They pause just enough to make sure you get the message. "And you are none of those."
You grin. "Damn, what a way to make someone feel welcome."
Alexis doesn't react much, just lifts their drink and takes another sip, their expression blank.
But you can tell. They're annoyed, and you fucking love it.
Your grin widens as you glance around the room, then back to them. "So, you're here alone?" You shake your head slightly, pretending to care. "Didn't score a plus one? What a pity."
Alexis doesn't even blink. "Didn't need one. Unlike some people, I don't need an audience to feel secure in my relationships."
A good jab. You'll give them that.
You let out a low chuckle, swirling the drink the bartender just placed in front of you. "That so?" You take a slow sip, watching them over the rim of your glass. "Because from where I was standing, it looked like you were watching MC and me pretty closely. Almost like you had something to say."
Alexis shrugs, feigning indifference. "Just making sure MC is having a good time."
"Uh-huh." You lean in just slightly. "Must be real exhausting, keeping tabs on them all night."
"I don't keep tabs on them," Alexis shoots back, their voice rising a little. "I care about them. There's a difference."
"Right." You drag the word out, studying them. "And I bet they have no idea just how much you care, huh?"
That does it. A flicker of something passes through their eyes, brief but there. You don't push further—not yet. Just let the silence stretch as you nurse your drink, letting your words settle between you.
Alexis looks away first, staring back at the dance floor where MC has found another friend to dance with. Their posture is relaxed, but their grip on the glass gives them away.
You tap the bar, drawing their attention back to you. "You know, I actually like you, Alexis."
That earns a skeptical look. "Could've fooled me."
"Nah, I do." You grin. "You're entertaining. And I like how you pretend you don't hate me when we both know you do."
"I don't waste my energy hating people," Alexis says evenly. "Especially not people who won't be around forever."
The implication is clear. You're just a phase. A passing thing.
You hum, unbothered. "Well, I guess that's something we'll have to see, won't we? But in the meantime, I'll continue to go home with MC. We'll continue to sleep in the same bed. We'll keep kissing, while all you'll get is a friendly hug every once in a while. So sad."
Alexis doesn't answer, just downs the rest of their drink and sets the glass down with a little more force than necessary.
"What? Did I hit a nerve?" you grin, your eyes glinting with amusement.
They don't meet your eyes right away, instead staring at MC, who's now smiling at their new companion in a way that makes Alexis's jaw clench, though they hide it well.
"You know what, Mel," Alexis says, their voice colder now, as they finally turn to face you fully. "Don't think for a second that I'm worried about you. I know what you are."
You raise an eyebrow, taking another sip from your glass. "Oh? And what's that?"
Alexis holds your gaze, their stare unwavering. "A liar, a jerk, and a total asshole."
You laugh, low and smooth, like they just handed you the punchline to a joke.
"You're adorable when you're angry. But hey, stay angry, I'll think about that tonight when MC and I are Fuck—"
You don't get the chance to finish as Alexis rises to their feet and, without another word, turns and walks away.
You watch them go, a slow smirk curling at your lips. Yeah, this game? You could play it all night.

2025-02-10 05:12:38 +0000 UTCIt was a great delivery since we have more insight to what M is like before cheating. It’ll be interesting to see how much work they’re willing to put in for their beloved again considering how smug they are. I have two MCs planned already just because the potential tension is awesome. 👏 I’m looking forward to more!
