Today I'm giving you an overview of the things that are on my to-do list for the next release and I can also show you something already.
When working on a new release, I always find myself in a situation where I have to find a balance between creating new content for the game and making some technical improvements/fixes.
In the next release, the big "technical upgrade" will definitely be the introduction of graphical settings. To integrate these, the current main menu is far too small to contain all the new options. So I will have to expand it. And while I'm at it, I'm going to rework the main menu. Not only to make it look nicer and better, but also to create more space for even more options and settings that will be added in the future.
The goal of the new graphics settings is to give you the ability to adjust the performance of the game so that it runs smoothly on your system, no matter what hardware you have. I will give you detailed information about the upcoming settings as soon as they are ready.
The introduction of "real terrain" into the game world has also been on my list for a long time. Up to now, the terrain has only consisted of sloped planes, which were a quick solution at the start of the project, but look a bit poor. So I took the time to work out something nice. I've included a few before and after screens of the reworked exterior of the mansion.
It's certainly not the greatest terrain ever and it still lacks plants and other decorations, but I think it's already an improvement and a good base to build further on.
When it comes to adding new content, the next story chapter with Jessica will certainly be the main attraction of the next release. I've already finalized the plot and I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it!
I also want to add another random scene with Hannah. There are so many ideas on my list and I'm really looking forward to realizing another one in the game...
