I noticed animation for the first two arcs of Shippuden are very spotty. Obviously still some good standout episodes but the more regular episodes can look very bad at times. The anime in general to start Shippuden is pretty rough. It's like they were experimenting with the One Piece pacing but ultimately decided on having more filler arcs instead (which must have sucked for the people watching along) but really helped the people who watched later.
