And of course he'd need help fighting Kaido, Lin Lin, Whitebeard, Xebec and multiple other notorious pirates. Garp isn't god lol. Still the most impressive feats of the whole story assuming Roger and Garp split the work 50/50.

Like we just aint seen prime Garp in a flashback fight yet so idk if he was legit all powerful or just propped up by government exaggeration (remember he needed roger in god valley)

2024-09-17 03:38:06 +0000 UTCWhile I’m aware how tedious the constant cutbacks to the capital can be, I think it’s important to recognize the juxtaposition of settings that is being established. I know it’s easy to be reductive and say it’s just toei forcing filler moments, which is not an inaccurate take (although considering what the animators are doing, personally I think it’s more than fair, though the 11 recap eps every 5 eps was a bit much) but at the same time it serves a deeper purpose. I know how completely one can be consumed with the insane degree of hype and action on-screen, but one of the best things about one piece imo (which I’ve addressed before at length) is character autonomy. In this story, it’s not just the main character and everybody else. Secondary and even ancillary characters all have their own stories and arcs, fears and dreams, strengths and flaws. While we’re all-consumed with what’s happening on onigashima at the moment, somewhere, oceans away, Kaya is treating a child’s broken arm and daydreaming about usopp. Nojiko is harvesting tangerines and busting Gen’s balls. Zeff is cracking skulls in the kitchen and serving broke boys A-5 blue-fin elephant tuna Wagyu. This raid is the most seismic event in the world since marineford. One which will leave the status quo forever altered, one way or the other, and affect the lives of all the citizens in the world, whether they know it or not. And yet, life goes on. The people in the flower capital will continue to celebrate their one free day of levity a year, oblivious to the imminent annihilation just overhead. They send all their hopes and prayers to the heavens while the heavens threaten to obliterate them at any moment. Fortunately, in this world, somebody is actually listening to them. It’s a sentiment one might think the Japanese in particular have an especially strong connection to, which is probably why you see this theme drawn out time and again in their modern stories. Be it in kaiju flicks, or Wano, or “Shinra Tensei” (no spoilers), or the poor man’s rose in HxH. Or, god forbid, a direct retelling of events like in Barefoot Gen. I definitely understand the irritation here, like I said, since it tends to be a bit egregious, whether those taiko drums are a bop or not. Still, there seems to be a more important through-line to draw here, to me, anyway. PS When I finished Wano, I found myself immediately worried for the future of the show. I didn’t see a way that the art direction, stylization, or animation could be elevated beyond this, or even maintain this level of consistency. Even just in the budget alone, it seemed an impossible ask. Fortunately for me, my fears appear to have been quickly dashed. I continue to look forward to what comes next haha

This dude is adapting and able to keep up with the physics defying incomprehensible gear 5 powers and still landing monsterous shots on Luffy. AND HE'S STILL KEEPING THE ISLAND AFLOAT on top of fighting an insane gauntlet: gear 5 luffy, zoro, law, kid, yamato, and the nine scabbards. Heat n hus nailed the post discussion on Mr. Worororo, no wonder he's the strongest creature alive bro 😭
