Even if what you say is true and "Sanji doesn't really care" then that is still the person Luffy chose, and I think one of Luffy's powers or abilities is to read people or at least their hearts. And at the same time, Robin wanted this as well, as shown by her saying thank you to Sanji as he is running away.
Now I dont agree with this :D but imo even if you feel like you do, the scene should still be awesome. With Robin stepping up and being a total badass :)

I don't agree with you, but I'm not going to tell you how to feel about it so if that's your opinion then that's cool

If he understands Robin on that deep level, which must have been since the CP9 arc because he always knew his own backstory, then why didn't he go extra hard in saving Robin? Why did he clown around and let himself be held up by the CP9 chick? His pride is his most important asset, everything else is secondary.
His pride >> Robin's wellbeing >> Luffy's ambition. Sanji doesn't really care.

Sanji is a clown. He has shown enough feats in the past to easily be able to run away from them. They could never catch him if he was serious.
And if one of the most important battles of all time is happening right now, you should set aside your pride and contribute in any way possible. Meaning, fight them hoes.
He unnecessarily got Robin involved who probably will get hurt in this fight and will be compromised himself because he didn't shield himself with Haki, like a clown.
Zoro gave up his dream of becoming the greatest swordsman off of his own strength for Luffy's sake (let himself get trained by Mihawk), while Sanji can't even take care of some enemies because they happen to be female. That's why I can't respect him at all. His own pride >>>> Luffy's life and dream of becoming the pirate king.
If Kuma was female, he would have let her take Luffy and that's a fact.

It's hilarious but Sanji a real one for that. Better letting a Kalifa 2.0 situation happen lmao. It's a big deal for him to ask and I respect it.

I love this scene between Sanji and Robin. Since WCI, I've felt like those 2 can relate to and understand one another the best. Sanji’s problem was that he wasn’t being selfless like he thought, he just undervalued himself.
He “selflessly” left the crew to protect them at Zou not bothering to ask for help. I attribute it to his treatment as a kid, making him think he wasn’t worth anything and the rejection/abuse he suffered from his own family with his father refusing to help. Just like Robin, who wanted to die due to her childhood treatment and feeling alone/rejected by the world. Sanji learned he shouldn’t do that anymore and that he can rely on his friends for help. Robin would get it, because she learned the same thing. They can relate to one another in that aspect, and as Sanji said to Usopp, "I'll do what you can't do, and you do what I can't do". Robin knows he can't fight women and I think it's a great moment showing Sanji trusts her and he ASKED her for help, and Robin is happy because she's being valued/relied on. It's not just because Black Maria threatened him if he didn't call for Robin. He did it knowing Robin wouldn't hesitate and he believes in her. I think that's a fantastic moment.

Have to say, Oda’s writing of sanji has been one of favourite things from post timeskip one piece. However disgusting his gag may be.
You guys are terrific, understanding how much that meant to Robin as character. For a change she’s the one saving sanji.

Sanji may sound pathetic if we take the scene at face value, but if we really deep the significance of it, this is huge character development for Sanji, who would previously never have been able to swallow his pride and ask for help.
This even ties back to Baratie, and when Zeff told him "Don't catch a cold." Essentially meaning, learn when to put aside your pride and ask for help. Otherwise you will be left out in the cold.

This is deeper than Sanjis love for women. All of Whole Cake Island he refused to reach out and ask for help until the very end. This is showing his growth and that it’s ok to rely on other people to do things you can’t
