Sakura has been spending every day here tending to sasuke’s side, something Tsunade immediately recognized, while Naruto has been wilding making crazy ass plays to fight amongst legends and bring back a legendary healer to rule and save his people. All this he did not just for Sasuke, but also for Sakura, and the rest of the village. Remember, Naruto is in love with Sakura. He is pretty much completely unaware of Hinata’s affections. He just thinks she’s a good friend. And after all this mountain climbing and S rank jutsu mastering and surviving encounters with Akatsuki, he comes back and gets Sasuke right. And what is the result? Sasuke shellshocked and despondent and Sakura in tears, still with eyes only for him. Neither of them even said fucking thank you to your boy after all that. That wasn’t happiness on his face, it was acceptance. That’s the moment he realizes that no matter what he does, he will always be second best to Sasuke in this one thing, and his feelings won’t ever be reciprocated. It was a rare, emotionally mature moment for your boy, in which he accepts his place with a quiet sadness, yet a contentedness that his friend is at least happy in her own way. Thats why Tsunade silently acknowledges his consideration, bc it seems very unlike a boisterous, scatologically-minded child. But as we’ve seen before, Naruto raised himself. He didn’t get to have a childhood, he’s figuring this shit out as he goes along. It is a powerful moment of introspection and growth for our MC, and quite a nice example of show not tell from Kishimoto here, something which is typically not his strong suit. In fact, it actually parallels a similar motif throughout the episode, with Konohamaru meeting a new woman in his grandfather’s seat and having to accept that life goes on, Shikimaru meeting his new boss and getting a lesson on maturity and women from dear old dad, and Lee having to accept some hard truths of his own from everyone’s favorite GILF, all while the other squads continue their own progress and grow in their own ways as well. Just goes to show that even though the characters in it can be goofy, still, time waits for no man, even in the village hidden in the leaves

The Gates alone would require a lot of rest and rehab because you're literally bypassing the guardrails on your body that are meant to stop any self-harm. Then combine that with Gaara making his whole left side paste and no wonder it looks futile.
