Changing it would be tough. One Piece by Toei will likely stay weekly. Newer shows often follow a different model, more like movies. The One Piece will most likely be seasonal and use the newer model. The teaser for it showed Toei Animation, Shueisha, and Fuji TV as sponsors, along with Netflix, showing they're all involved.

Leads to more incentive for all sides to come to an agreement. The only thing that less awareness does is give more power and leverage to the anti filler, slow pacing decision making for whoever is all in agreement. If viewership doesn’t decline and fans convince themselves it’s acceptable, why change anything?

Decisions about when the show airs are usually made by Shueisha, Fuji TV, and Toei together. In Japan, One Piece airs on Fuji TV early on Sundays. Fuji TV doesn't want to give Toei long breaks because it would leave a gap in their schedule. Shueisha owns Shonen Jump, where the manga is published. All these entities are stakeholders in the franchise, functioning as producers. If they don't agree, big changes can't happen easily. Some might ask, "Why not just make filler episodes?" But all the companies need to agree on that, and it's not always possible. Fuji TV might not like fillers because they could make viewers lose interest and the show might get canceled. So, it's up to Toei Animation to work with what they have to make each episode. Toei getting more breaks lately is a good sign. It shows that everyone involved wants to keep the show good, which means more money for them in the end.

Its just that animators are a specific underpaid and underrepresented job of people who just draw, they ultimately have no say in how the production is decided. That is done by the businessmen who are in tv because it makes money. But really have no passion for it. They actually only invested into Wano because viewership was dropping off for One Piece after whole cake. So, shows how much they really care. So yeah just highlighting that.

They're terribly paced a lot of the time. There's nothing that can be done with these episodes obviously lol so it's just letting others who don't read the manga know what's different. The newest arc however has actually been done very well so far, well paced all things considered, and I've had no complaints.

I could see and would welcome a future remake doing something similar to what DBZ-Kai did for DBZ, and make it actually accurate to the manga.

Episodes like this really put a magnifying glass on it. Something that happened instantaneously in the manga somehow gets dragged out for 15 minutes, making all the straw hats look incompetent. It’s obnoxious. WIT Remake - PLEASE SAVE US 😂😭

2024-03-27 23:49:03 +0000 UTCI was excited when Jimbei showed up, he's finally going to be an "official" part of the crew, actually traveling/fighting with them as a Straw Hat since he was asked by Luffy back on Fishman Island... that was 400+ episodes ago. I also feel a need to correct the anime again, in the manga the Beast Pirates manage to shoot like 3 or 4 samurai ships before Jimbei destroys them, not as many as the anime makes it out. It's just killing time.
