Toki already explained why she stayed behind. There isn’t an empirical reason that will satisfy your logos brain, Heat. Thats because it was an emotionally-driven decision. She stayed behind for the same reason she got pissed when Oden recommended she jump to the future to see the war. She said it earlier in the flashback, she found her people. Her purpose has changed. She isn’t running anymore. She wanted to die alongside Oden and his ideals. So she stayed behind in his timeline to pass along his message. As for Hiyori, as others have said, it made far more sense to separate the bloodline, rather than sending them all in one convenient spot. And she appears to have been right in her snap judgment, considering where we found Momo and Kin’emon lol

2024-03-23 10:46:08 +0000 UTCI believe why Toki died is to be a distraction for Hiyori and Kawa to escape through the back route. The castle was burning, and surrounded. But Toki made a huge commotion and attracted the whole attention to go chase her, and that obviously cost her to be injured by arrows (also it's a parallel to her previously protecting her son Momonosuke from an arrow; now by a twisted turn of fate, she shields Hiyori by also getting shot by arrows). The rest is obvious, she made a prophecy while bleeding out, and got executed. I don't think she had a lot of strength to go on to not make a prophecy then and there. As for not sending Hiyori, like @emerald✨️octopus said, she did it to increase the chances of the clan to live on, just in case.

2024-03-23 06:34:56 +0000 UTCI've always thought Toki sent Momo into the future but kept Hiyori behind because, on the off chance Momonosuke and the others didn't survive, she could continue the Kozuki line and the plan to save Wano by living through the 20 years in secret with Kawamatsu as her protector. If she sent both of them and they were both somehow killed or captured at the same time, it lessens their chances of being successful. Not putting all your eggs in one basket so to speak.
