2025-03-13 15:27:34 +0000 UTCHearing Heat call Cerberus Sarah-bus again and again was killing me inside man ngl 😭😭 I don’t remember if you guys have seen Overlord or not, but I’m guessing you haven’t since you aren’t drawing parallels. A lot of these ideas are taken from there. The idea of his personality changing because of the system, the idea of the system controlling his toxin levels and not letting him get drunk, this sort of mystery intrigue happening with the system UI and the concept of players, etc etc. Much of this story is super derivative in fact. The whole premise is pretty much just Gate x Overlord. There are some unique ideas, I like the concept of false rankers, or the socio-economic shift of the world’s power and energy hierarchies due to becoming reliant on these new non-renewable resources, or the implications of being able to use their skills outside of dungeons in the real world, too, which I hope is explored more in depth. But honestly, although I’ve been enjoying it, I don’t really get why people say it’s like gods gift to the genre. The animation is ok, I find technical animation lacking a lot of the time, with the after effects and OST really taking main stage, personally. The best I’ve seen technically speaking is definitely the OP, or that stylized dream in I think ep 9 or 10 (I haven’t seen the two newest eps yet) Still, it’s quite a fun little power fantasy romp. I know your plates are full lately, but seeing how much you enjoy this, it would be nice to see you guys tackle some more Isekai over time. I know re zero probably got left in the dust by this point (although s3 supposed to be coming this year), but stuff like overlord, SLF, or Mushoku Tensei I think you guys might really love. Despite that last one being… very hard for a lot of people to watch, albeit gloriously animated and fantastically written, having had a studio made solely for that one show bc it’s so revered. It is also probably one of the most god tier shows for reactions, up there with JJBA and one piece. From the very first ep you guys will probably be losing your shit, and the new season is supposed to start this month Either way, glad you guys seem to really be enjoying the current lineup of shows haha

2024-02-18 03:40:16 +0000 UTCIm glad yall caught that the gatekeeper Cerberus was not S-Rank. I watched other reactors and they assumed it was an S-Rank monster bcuz it was an S-Rank Gate dungeon. It can't be all monsters inside be S-Rank it just doesn't make sense when you think about it. At least in most cases in my opinion.
