The series of oneshots it’s from, WANTED, is a collection of AU reimaginings or prequels with early designs and ideas Oda had back in the day. Theres a retelling of the beginning of one piece called Romance Dawn, too. Not sure if that one was ever adapted tho Also, the king they were talking about wasn’t a literal monarch, they were saying that that was the title the worlds greatest swordsman held, hence the reveal at the end that the title was held by Ryuma all along, even though he himself didn’t know that, since it was given to him by others who saw him fight. Funny to think there’s a character in Wano called King, too It’s wild to think after all this Moria of all people ganked his sword and shadow haha This oneshot is a great example of all the great stories yet to tell in the world of one piece. Hell I would watch a whole show about shanks life, whitebeard’s, Roger’s, the rocks, or even a prequel story set in a different era way back when or something where we can see the old power holders and origins of fruits and whatnot
