Idk what's considered spoiler about conclusions made from facts we already know. The Monk already called Ryuma the "God of the Blade" when he told Zoro about Shusui being "a black blade forged by Ryuma's battles" and that he was a legendary samurai and Shusui is their national treasure (to which Zoro said that it didn't concern him). The people of Wano are superstitious. It's logical to conclude from what the Monk says, combined with their superstitions, he would equate the disappearance of the legendary sword as the catalyst to the tragedies they've experienced over the last 20 years. The rest about Moria and Kaido just makes sense. We know Moria wasn't always a fat, unmotivated slob. He challenged Kaido in Wano and he killed Moria's crew, and at some point Moria ran off with Ryuma's body/sword. Kaido proceeded to overtake the rest of Wano. This must be the timeline because the Monk says the regions of Wano were defeated one by one after Shusui disappeared (it's context clues).

Thats kind of spoilery. Apart from that we can assume that the "god of the blade" is Ryuma or his spirit that lies in Shusui.

What you can ascertain from what the Monk said, and from what we already know to be true, is that when Shusui (and subsequently Ryuma's body) was stolen, it was around the time Kaido had just started in Wano. We know Moria was the one who stole Ryuma, so he had to have been in Wano, challenged Kaido, and his crew was killed. He still managed to make off with Shusui and Ryuma, and Kaido continued to take over the different regions of Wano. The Monk is saying the "God of the Blade" became enraged, and without their national treasure Shusui being there to "protect" the country (remember the people are superstitious), it allowed the tragedies they've experienced to occur. That's how I've always interpreted what he said in that moment.

Yeah in Thriller Bark it's mentioned that Moria lost his whole crew to Kaido in the New World, and we know that Moria has the corpse of Ryuma and his sword Shusui.
We haven't physically seen what happened in the anime though up to this point.

It's getting real.... when we fought Moria I believe they showed in his backstory him getting whooped by Kaido in Wano?!? And of course he got Ryuma's corpse for his zombie with Brook's soul and the blade. Someone might need to double check me tho lol, been a while. Good shit yall, stay safe out there.
