This character inspired millions of people around the world to hit the gym as adolescents decades ago, and to this day continues to be an inspiring figure for anime fans trying to get in shape. He is the embodiment of diligence and the all-too-human desire to become something better than you are. Kishimoto may not be able to write women very well, but god damn was he in his bag with this one. Everything Guy says about the hidden lotus in this ep is pretty wild. Stronger than the Hokage??? Surely not. That was probably just hyperbole… right? “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times” - Bruce Lee PS It’s wild to me watching this back again and noticing how it seems like naruto and Sakura are pretty much the only ones who actually cheer for anybody. Goes to show Team 7 really is built different haha
