He was a Spanish artist, and this arc is pretty blatantly showing Dressrosa (which literally means ‘red dress’ in Spanish) to be Spain, what with the flamenco dancing and impassioned lovers and paella and whatnot. There are tons of Spain references in this arc, something to keep in mind when you see things like a bull fighting in a ring
