2022-07-06 15:01:27 +0000 UTCYeah, the treasure was in exchange for Fishman Island being spared Big Momβs wrath, but Big Mom refused to let it go entirely and made it clear that the Straw Hats are now on her shit list. Which makes sense from a practical standpoint. (Just my speculation.) She WANTS Fishman Island to keep making the candies, but letting it go entirely would probably send the wrong message to her other territories. Targeting Luffy gets her the treasure and the continued patronage from Fishman Island with her iron clad rep intact. Even if Luffy didnβt think it all through like that, he damn sure knows how pirates work.
