That and she was his navigator and friend at this point despite her trying to tell him off lol

I think it's just Sanji being overprotective of somebody he doesnt need to be. Sanji is the poster child for toxic masculinity.

Both Sanji and Nami knew Jimbei was Luffy's friend through the news coo. They both hold a preservation breath not to overturn a table because of Luffy. Especially Sanji, he remembered what Johnny told him about Jimbei the worlord release a fishman Arlong in East Blue without knowing the details and he knew what Nami been suffered. But he did give Jimbei to explain himself. Yeah Sanji went a little harsh to Jimbei because of Nami, but I don't think it was overstepping. No one is gonna blame Jimbei because of his status and be their captain's friend. If not Nami herself forgiving Jimbei no one will likely to talk it out for her anyway. In Strawhats family, either they are happy-go-lucky, or don't-care-style, or scaredy-cat-because-of-his-status, or don't-know-what-did-happen-to-Nami. If there would be a friend in the crew to talk it out for Nami, it is Sanji. If I have a friend to talk it out for myself, I would be more than happy and be easier to let go. Anyway, Nami is more kind than many people realize she is. She will forgive Jimbei either way.

Lmao, Luffy’s always been that way. He doesn’t care or even want to know about the past. When Nojiko told Nami’s story, Luffy walked away to avoid hearing it. As far as Luffy’s concerned, the past is the past. What matters is right now.

Sanji was trippin a lil yeah, if only because I feel like he was overstepping--Nami is the one who was directly affected, let her speak for herself. But I get what he meant--in my eyes tho Jimbei more than made up for that unintentionally by saving Luffy a thousand times over. As if we didn't befriend Bon Clay AND Vivi? I love how all these connections aren't black and white. So much more going on behind the scenes.

Lmao Luffy had me cracking up 😂😂but I loved this episode and for how it resolves Jinbe’s relationship to the crew and more specifically his relationship to Nami with their backstories being so masterfully tied together! Sanji’s part here willl always seem a bit harsh for me but he’s not wrong if he argued that Jinbei should’ve been more proactive in watching over Arlong. But I’m sure that’s just one of the many burdens Jinbei carries cause of his checkered past. He’s done a lot to humans as they’ve also done so much to him and his people. But Nami linked it perfectly with the fact that it’s Arlong who she hates, and she’s now learned from Jimbei’s backstory that Arlong was always a different kind of evil from the start, and that his behavior wasn’t encouraged or accepted by most of the people around him. It’s this layered complex storytelling that continues to make me appreciate Oda’s storytelling in the stories he makes for his side characters (although they feel like main character with this level of writing!)

The swoopity swoops are hella fresh, Hus is speaking the truth Btw idk if y'all saw what Vander wrote to Shirahoshi but his letter said "I'm in luv with you. I suspect." lmaooo, the whole thing is messed up but those One Piece character quirks always get me

Mimi

Kama Island put Sanji in his bag lmao plus he's cured, no sympathy🤣

Zelos

Dang, you were right. Queen Otohime did look like a sacrifice on an alter, I didn't really think of that

K Ann

Luffy didnt kno shit about Arlong or Nami's history too loool he took a walk while the crew learned about everything. His only reason to fight for Nami was that he saw her crying.

johnel

Swoopty Swoops lmao now I want one
