I'd disagree that Garp is always talking like the WG is "good". He def knows there are messed up things occurring within the WG (Celestial Dragons for starters)... but I think he knows there are people in the Navy that genuinely want to make a difference (i.e., Koby), who believe they're fighting for the greater good because in reality A LOT of pirates do fucked up stuff. I think it's pretty clear Garp has helped keep things "balanced" over the years he's been in the Navy (but a new era is coming as they say). He even formed some kind of rivalry friendship with Gol D. Roger, an enemy of the WG, too. So I'd say Garp can see it from both perspectives. He was always harping about Luffy and Ace becoming good strong Marines because he didn't want them to become enemies of the WG (not only are they strong with a lot of influence, but Ace would def be their main target). He knew if they became pirates, there'd be a situation where he'd have to choose fighting his own grandkids or his own colleagues and morals for a profession he's worked his whole life for. That's a pretty crazy situation to be in lol

What does this have to do with me stating you have to see it from all aspects ? we can criticize everyone in this manner ...Ace for being a moron and going after BB who is an OG and did not heed pops word, Luffy who already took an L and still went to take another L ...furhtermore, if were talking among ..what chapters does garp praise the marines in an forward manner aside from fighting pirates ? The guy turned down being a VA sole cause he'd have to protect the celestial dragons ...None of what you're saying has anything to do with what I'm saying ... If you read what I stated ...I stated that not many reactors see it from all aspects ...just luffs because their STANS....It does not matter why Garp does this or that ..hell ..half the characters of OP have yet to state why they do this or that ...you can criticize him all you want ..thats your opinion, but Garp stuck to his guns and still game luffy ANOTHER pass from being captured ...This whole moment is old and has been discussed millions of times in the past 11 years ..Garp is still that dude for many .......especially me..cant wait to see him revealed as the leader of the SWORDS...

But i would still criticize Garp, bc he always talking like the WG is good but you cant tell me he doesn't now about all the bad things they do and the Celestial Dragons having slaves and being able to do what they want etc., at this point why is he even a Marine? Cant understand. What is he protecting? Justice? Yeah sure if thats their way of justice then he should rather become a pirat.

I love that y'all completely understood Garp and why he's doin what he's doin. Some other reactors I've seen felt completely betrayed by Garp and instantly hated him when he finally took action not for Ace, but for the marines. And they're feelings are valid yes, but I like when ppl see where Garp is coming from lol.

"Sengoku's scared" Cap. Roger and Whitebeard both respect him reason. I'm not gonna spoil anything but he was an admiral, one of the navy's strongest fighters and by extension one of the strongest people in the world. Nothing to play with and Whitebeard knows it.
