It really wasn't sudden though. She has extreme attachment anxiety, probably caused from seeing her parents dead in the streets at such a young age. Which causes her to see her big sister not as a sister but more of a parental figure, even more so than vander. She takes everything her sister says to heart, like gospel. All she ever wants is to get approval and recognition from her sister. Just being separated from her sister for a short period is enough to spiral her into a panic attack. This show revolves around chain reactions, one event causes something that then causes a snowball effect to other things. It shows that even before the events of this episode, powder already has deep rooted mental issues. Alot of people thought her panic attack when everyone left to save vander was sporadic and came out of nowhere, but it didn't. The one thing powder hates and fears the most is not being needed by the person she admires and cares the most about. So having this information in mind you can kinda see why some events transpired the way they did. The world they live in is not kind in the slightest, kids grow up fast and violence is everywhere. No place for a helpless useless little girl where the weak are preyed upon and the strong thrive. In the end, her actions and emotions are very compelling and honestly leaves me quite surprised how detailed everything is especially the facial animations. This show does an amazing job of displaying nonverbal communication. Go to the end of this episode and just look at powder's eyes when she's looking up at silco. Everything you need to know to understand how she's feeling is right there. A tragic yet beautiful piece of art.

Jinx really is a Jinx though, i was rooting for her to make a play, she could have just as easily become a saviour. I wasn't prepared for her sudden switch of attitude after Vi walked off though, i thought she would be more timid than that. I guess we'll see a different Jinx from now on.

They spent 7 years making season 1 -_-. Which explains why it looks so good. Either we wait ~4-5 years if they do it with a bigger budget or they rush it in 1-2 years and its not as good and its seven deadly sins/opm season 2 all over again... its a lose lose XD

Damn man, this is always a hard episode to take in no matter how many times you've seen it. They do such a good job of setting up the whole situation to where you understand everyone's motivations. Grayson was a real one, so was Vander. You already feel dread knowing we lost two key people trying to keep the peace between up top and underground, and so many drastic things changing on this one day. Also sucks that Vi was upset and seemingly left, but she did stop, she just needed some space for a second which I get. Wasn't her fault Marcus snatched her up like that but it looks bad regardless after the way she lashed out.
That aside, Vi's fight scene was fucking boss shit and the music is dope every episode, gotta appreciate it alongside the pain.
