Watching ya'll have so much hope knowing he was gonna lose was tough, also for why luffy was hitting like that it's because he could no longer see so he was throwing random hits, which basically gets confirmed when he sends a kick into the fire he was losing his senses, and if you look closely his eyes are really faded and not focused.

Zoro wanted to be the strongest swordsman and had to see that disrespectful power difference from Mihawk, now since Luffy wants to be king he gets to see how much he doesn't measure up to the big names on both sides for pirates and Navy. At this point I dont think rookie is a compliment or respectful term anymore lol. Like someone stepping into the Octagon solely because he won some school fights in high school, you're gonna get sat down.
