2020-12-21 17:59:42 +0000 UTCAnnie was tailing Kenny cause he was chief of the king's royal guard. Remember their mission is to take back the Founding Titan from the king. So tailing Kenny was the best way (and most dangerous one) to figure out where the king is.

That and the discussion about Kenny chasing Annie was my favorite parts of this video. Edit: Also Annie was trying to find out who got the founding titan (in the royal fam) and ran into Kenny. That's why she told Reiner she was at her limit with "that guy" around. LOL

In S2 when Hange and them figure out who the armored and colossal titan, they talk about how odd it is that the records indicate all 3 of them are from the same region and they're also happen to be top recruits amongst other things that didn't add up in their records. Given the chaos of the aftermath after Wall Maria was breached it wouldn't have been diffocult to falsify a few documents from some far aways mountainous region.
