Good point g. But we know how empty most characters feel once they exact their vengeance. They're never truly satisfied (Of course Thorfinn doesn't realize this) I need my guy to rekindle his childhood back home in the presence of family (Hopefully mom is still livin)

You gotta understand where Thorfinn is coming from. Askeladd is essentially his surrogate father. He is the last thread that ties Thorfinn back to his childhood and his real father. If Askeladd dies without him getting his vengeance, it means that Thorfinn has spent the last 10 years of his life murdering and pillaging for *no reason*. We've already seen him wavering in his pursuit of vengeance, so removing the choice for him would most likely break him.
Honestly I think Thorfinn is coming around to the idea of forgiving Askeladd, although he says the opposite. My guess is that someone else will take Askeladd away from him and he will realize how much the man means to him.
Love the reactions, cheers fellas.
