I love how the arc started with the Mom and her family and ends with them. And lol at "Ging is the worst Dad in history," said everyone who has ever watched HxH.

Pitou was correct in that he sacrificed all his potential to grow that strong. That's how messed up Gon's mental state was at the time. He put a much stronger restriction on himself than Kurapika did with his Phantom Troupe restrictions.
