Delayed March 2025 prompt :Awaken oh Descendant of the God.

(Furry / Power-lifter / Lumberjack / Weight Gain / Muscle Growth / Macro / Growth / Sweat)

Within a forested land that was being cleared, the sound of trees being chopped down and heavy machinery was replaced, though not by the peaceful tones of wildlife. Instead, in between the now cooling heavy machinery used to cut and clear out the old trees, a group of lumberjacks were gathered around one of the cut tree stump. The burly men cheering as two of their own were engaged in an arm-wrestling competition. One of them was the elephant logger, Carl, his leather hide glistening with sweat as the rolled up sleeves threatened to tear against his bicep. The impressive sized man letting out a grunt as he tried to move his competitors hand. Said competitor was a brown bear lumberjack named Saul Bunyan. The heavy set bear letting out a grunt himself as he fought to push down Carl's tough hand. The two men having been at an impasse for some time with each millimetre of gain being lost within the next second. Though Saul's furry ears perked as he listened to the cheers of his fellow lumberjacks.

"Come on Saul! Put your back into it!"

"Carl you got this, he's just a bear and you're bigger!"

"Don't lose. I got money on you!"

"Yeah, where's that giant blood ya got?"

Saul couldn't help but laugh a bit as he heard his fellow lumberjacks cheer him and Carl on. Grunting, Saul positioned himself a bit before pushing down with his might. The fur covered muscles in his arm bulged with strength as he saw Carl's own arm shake. The impressive sized elephant trying his best to keep from going down, steam puffing out his mouth and trunk with each breath. Though Saul's burst of strength helped the bear gain some much needed ground, alas, it wasn't long before Saul found the back of his hand slamming into the tree stump. The crowd of lumberjacks cheering and groaning, money passing hands as Carl stood up from his seat. The elephant man wiping sweat off his forehead with one hand as he used his trunk to pat the slumped over Saul on the shoulder.

"Great game, boy. Almost got me there that time." Carl said, panting a bit from the effort he got. The elephant man shrugging a bit before being helping Saul up, the bear coming up to Carl's broad shoulders, unlike the other bear-men on site who only just reached the crest of the elder logger's impressive chest. "Course, a teddy bear like you can't really beat me."

Saul let out a huff at his friend's ego, shaking his head as Carl's deep laugh echoed out. "Yeah yeah, but I did give you a hell of a time this round." Saul breathed out a laugh, nudging his shoulder against the huge elephant before the two joined the rest of their crew. Both accepting some water and the usual round of encouragement from their fellow lumberjacks before heading back to the trailer that acted as the company locker room.

"I am serious though, Saul. I haven't had to work so hard for a win there since I was but a kid, especially from a smaller guy like you." Carl called from his locker, tossing his sweat soaked shirt into his bag before shrugging on a clean one. His fingers working on the buttons as he glanced over to where Saul was. The bear chuckling a bit before shaking his own head.

"Carl, you're one of the only guys I know who can call me small and be serious about it." Saul admitted as he got changed. The bear was honest as ever since high school, he had always been the biggest guy in a room. Breaking records in his college weight lifting team and being regularly screened for steroids as the burly man was bigger than the average bear. Saul still remembering the old tales his granddad would say about them being descendants of the legendary Paul Bunyan. Course, how the big bull giant of folktales could have bear descendants was a question that never got an answer. Putting on his jacket, Saul closed his locker before turning to where Carl stood by the trailer entrance.

Before the two could head out, maybe even talk about the usual after work plans, a booming cracking sound echoed around them. A sound the two loggers were well acquainted of a tree being fell.

A sound that was their only warning before the trailer roof caved in.

Saul almost died.

"You sure you're okay, Saul?"

Saul almost died.

"Saul, can you hear me?"

Saul almost died.

"Saul!"

"H-Huh?" The yell pulled the bear from his spiralling thoughts. Blinking away from the image of the crushed locker trailer, Saul found himself on a bench with a cheetah looking him over. The look on his face making Saul wince before speaking.

"Y-Yeah, I. I'm good." Saul forced out, taking a shaking breath as the paramedic continued to give him a once over. The light shining into his eyes leaving him seeing spots, though better than giving him a chance to look back over to the crushed remains of the trailer. Though Carl had gotten lucky being thrown out the open door when the old redwood crashed down on top of them, Saul himself had been pinned within the metal structure stuck wedged under the toppled lockers and jagged roof before the rescue crew could cut through the trailer walls and get him out. Saul figured he must have passed out before, since it didn't feel like he was in there for three hours. Though, it did feel longer. Was it three hours?

So lost in his head, Saul hadn't notice the paramedic had left him. Not even if he was told anything. The bulky bear only really noticed he was gone when a strong hand gripped his shoulder. Almost jumping in his seat, Saul turned around and found himself looking up at Carl's bandaged face.

"Carl? You sure you should be standing?" Saul said, rushing to stand up himself before almost keeling over. The world spinning a moment before he was guided back to seated position.

"Whoa there little guy. I'm not the one who almost got crushed," Carl joked. Though Saul didn't need to look up to know his friend winced at his own poor joke. "The paramedics gave me a clear. Just some minor scratches from the branches and junk. Though I'm still heading to hospital to get a proper check, figured we can head together."

"I don't need that, Carl. I'm fine."

"Saul. The paramedic said you might have a concussion. Didn't you hear him tell you?" Carl asked, getting his answered at the bashful look on his coworker's face. "Right, we're definitely going together. Besides, I need a bit of a buffer. They called Jerry and he's been a bit stressed out."

"Right. right Carl. That's probably best." Saul said with a sigh, shaking his head a bit as he knew Carl's husband was a worrier on the best of days. No doubt the moment the two men got to hospital, the only reason Jerry wouldn't be fussing over Carl would be to make sure Saul was okay too.

With the two men bundled into the ambulance to head out, Saul tried not to blush as he stomach let out a growl that echoed in the ambulance cabin.

"Guess I did miss dinner, huh?" Saul joked, earning a low chuckle from the paramedic and Carl.

"Well, you're gonna have to wait a bit longer before you can eat. We have to run some tests first."

"Great." Saul sighed, trying not to focus too much on his gurgling stomach as it kept up a near constant growl through the ride.

——————-

"I can't believe you almost got crushed and walked away with barely a scratch. Not even a concussion."

Saul shook his head at Carl's comments. It had been lucky with even the doctors mentioning it was nothing short of a miracle the bear survived that experience almost unscathed. All tests coming back showing no internal bleeding nor broken bones, not even a hairline fracture. The bear only having a couple bruises and some residual shock. The exceptional luck made all the more glaring with Carl having been diagnosed with a concussion himself from his flight out the trailer.

"Carl, don't make fun of him." Jerry called. The shorter mouse helping his husband take off his jacket, the elephant having to stay overnight for observation.

"Not making fun, it's a damn miracle is what I'm saying," Carl huffed, sitting on the large bed as he worked on taking off his shoes with his trunk. "He should go and get a lottery ticket with that luck he's got."

"Might have burned through my yearly allocation of luck for the whole year with that." Saul said, shaking his own head. The bear tried to hide a wince at the movement before bringing a paw up to his temples. Though the doctors cleared him, Saul found he was still sore. Oddly enough, especially along his temples.

"You sure you should be heading home, Saul? I still think you should stay and be checked over again." Jerry said, leaving his husband to undress as the small mouse man looked up at Saul.

"I'm fine Jer. Doc said I should come in tomorrow for a once over, and then to call if I feel any real pain through the week." Saul tried to reassure, though the older mouse still looked worried. "Besides, I can't drive home since my car was still one site. So I already ordered a cab." Saul said, holding up his phone to show the taxi he ordered already on it's way. The sight at least getting off some of the worry Jerry sent him. Though the betrayed look Carl sent him told Saul he wouldn't hear the end of abandoning his friend to his worried spouse.

"Well, call me when you get home. And when you wake up. And if you need anything-"

"Ah, taxi's outside. See you guys." Saul called out, breaking away from Jerry's spiral before he would be stuck for at least an hour. Heading out of the room and towards the entrance, Saul tried not to focus too much on how lucky he really had been. If he had stayed at his locker or been a step closer to the door, he would have been a smear of bear in a crushed trailer. Letting out a sigh, Saul walked out the hospital entrance, barely a few feet out before he saw the ordered cab. After double checking the license with what the website said, Saul got inside, giving the wolf driver a nod before they drove off.

The planned quiet drive with polite chitchat and obscure radio tunes was broken with Saul's gut letting out a deep gurgle.

"Heh, take it wasn't a fan of the food they got in there?" The wolf joked. Though Saul blushed with the loud gurgle, he couldn't help but frown. Once the doctors cleared him to eat, the bear had eaten his generous portion of bland food, even clearing the prepared meal Jerry had brought that Carl was sadly unable to even enjoy a bite of. How was he still hungry?

"Uh, kind of. Listen, you okay if we stop by a drive thru on the way? I'll tip you extra." Saul said, more than embarrassed with the question. Though he'd rather the guy tells him no than Saul try to face the rest of his trip home without at least trying to ease his gnawing hunger. Thankfully, the wolf understood and agreed to the detour, though he made it clear Saul was going to have to pay extra for the added stop.

With the detour confirmed and the food stop selected, Saul found himself unable to keep from ordering plenty from the place. More than double his usual as the restaurant workers had to go around from the drive thru window to hand the impressive feast to the bear. Saul did wonder if maybe he ordered too much, though that worry went out once he opened the bag and began to tear into the meal. Stuffing the burger into his maw as the driver drove on towards Saul's home. So focused on trying to calm his gurgling gut, Saul didn't realise the taxi had stopped outside his home until he had finished off his meal. Pulling his face from the now wrapper and crumb filled bag as he brought his hands to his bloated his stomach. A low belch rumbling out of him before the bear remembered he was in the backseat of a taxi.

"I. I'm so sorry. I never. I mean-"

"It's fine big guy," The driver said, a slight sweat on his forehead as the wolf looked over his shoulder at Saul. "Besides, that's far from the worse thing that's happened in the back of a cab."

Not trusting himself not to further embarrass himself, the blushing Saul worked to get out of the taxi. His heavy body shaking the car a bit one he squeezed out the door, turning back in to work on picking up the now spent bag and clearing off any crumbs he could see. Being at least somewhat satisfied with not leaving a mess, Saul stood back up and waved to the driver, the wolf waving back with the hand he had on the steering wheel whilst his other hand remained out of sight before Saul's view.

Unlocking his door and walking in, Saul made sure to give the more than patient driver a generous tip, and message Jerry he got home safe, before trudging off to bed. Stripping off his tight clothing, Saul tried not to think too much on how his despite the bloated feel of his belly, there was still a call to eat more.

"It's just stress of it all. A good sleep will help." Saul reasoned, laying atop his bed before eventually drifting off.

Things should be back to normal tomorrow.

———————

It did not go back to normal.

Saul had woken up with a deep hunger, leaving his crushed bed behind and rushing straight to the kitchen to try and ease up the pit that formed within him. So in need to eat, Saul hadn't notice he broke part of his bedroom door rushing out, nor just how much he was eating as anything that didn't need to be cooked was practically inhaled by the gorging bear.

It wasn't till after he felt satisfied, releasing another deep belch, that Saul took in just what happened. He blushed when he took in the mess of spent wrappers and cartons that littered the kitchen, the cabinet doors tilted as the hinges were pulled out of place.

"God, what was I doing?" Saul blushed. He really needed to go back to the hospital and get checked over. Walking back to his bedroom, Saul gawked at the cracked door frame, even more shocking was how he saw himself wider than the space he could usually fit through without trouble. Trying not to panic over his apparent, nor how he felt the way his briefs tightened around his groin, Saul squeezed into his room and worked to put on his clothes. The articles only helping show just how much he's grown as his pants stretched trying to cover his ample ass and thighs. His usual T-shirts were off the table not only with how broad he'd gotten, but also as he found it getting caught on something on his head. Pulling off the now torn fabric, Saul dared to check his bedroom mirror to see what was up, his reflection staring back showing not only his larger size, but further changes. His caramel coloured fur at taken on an odd shade, looking more a muddy blue as if he tried to wash off cyan hair dye. His muscles bulging out further, looking more pumped as if he'd just done an intense session in a gym. Yet, Saul found his eyes going to his head, boring onto the sport of his temples where two points were pushing out. Almost like… horns?

He needed to see the doctor now!

Throwing on a tank top, Saul rushed out the house and jogged for the hospital. As much as he wanted to limit people seeing him, he couldn't risk taking a cab or bus, even more so as he made regular stops for food.

By the time Saul made it to the hospital, he had eaten more food than he usually needed a week to go through. He'd also clear grew more as he looked down at the hospital staff. The usual wait being rushed through once he was seen, especially since the doctor from last night realised the bull/bear before him was the same man he saw yesterday.

After a series of tests, and clearing a vending machine of stale snacks, Saul listened as the doctor spoke on about something involving 'latent genes' and 'stressful situations'. It rather went over Saul's head, but the moment he was asked if he had any macro ancestors, the bear realised what was happening. The tales his granddad told him coming to the front of his mind.

"H-how big will I get?"

"Well, there are factors. But I would say easily the size of the ancestor. Maybe a big bigger."

"…oh shit."

—————-

In the weeks following the incident, Saul's body just kept growing bigger and bigger, forcing the transforming bear to abandon his home after almost breaking down a wall. The huge bull bear hybrid almost burning through his lives savings to keep up with his appetite, the nigh endless hunger only becoming manageable as his growth seemed to plateau. Leaving the lumberjack at a towering 100 feet tall when he finally returned to work.

His friends watching in awe as the colossal bear stomped towards the logging site. His beefy body swollen out with even bigger mass, looking more like an overblown off season weight lifter than he did before. His glistened cyan tinged fur glistening with his sweat, the air around Saul's body dense with his musk as the joyful bear waved to his co-workers. His heavy foot paws shaking the ground as he approached, muscles and fat juggling with each step as a many caught sight of the over stretched jock the big man wore, the fabric discoloured from not only the sweat coming off the bear.

"Hey guys," Saul's deep voice rumbled through the forest, shaking the standing trees and heavy machinery. A few of the lumberjacks almost falling over from the booming voice. The huge bear letting out a nervous chuckle as he reached a hand to rub his neck, showing not only his bulging bicep and impressive dense armpit, but almost drawing eyes to his curved bull horns. "Need any heavy lifting?"
